  1. Will they fix mine now that it's broken from trying to close it while trying to drive as it kept opening? It seems the pin that it swings down from broke off so now I have paper wedged to hold it up.
  2. Hey Zach, My question is this... What are you going to do for "us"? I have 62,000 miles on my '09 and am currently on my 4th set of pads and 2nd or 3rd set of rotors, I can't keep track anymore.
  3. I recently noticed some wear on the front tires of my Journey so I rotated them. After doing so, I noticed that the passenger front wheel appeared to be pointing outward. I took it to Firestone and had them do a 4 wheel alignment. I failed to check it before I left, so when I got home and checked it it still appeared to be pointing outward so I brought it back, They were more than happy to do it again, but when they finished it still appeared to be pointing outward. They told me they not only did the alignment again, but they check everything underneath and that it all was tight and in good shape. I don't want to waste my time at a dealer so I thought I'd come here first for ideas. So does anyone have anything they can share? Oh and I DIDN'T hit any curbs or major potholes so having anything bent or damaged from that is N/A.
  4. When I pull into my garage I have to turn the wheel to get my Journey in all the way, but when I turn it back to the left I hear a clicking noise. Any idea what this is??
  5. Can someone please help me understand why I just replace all 4 rotors and brake pads and after about 3000 miles the steering wobbles like crazy when I stop? I don't know what I did wrong, any ideas?
  6. Believe it or not Chrysler DOES monitor this forum. Many months ago I made several complaints on this forum about this piece of junk and was contacted by a rep from Chrysler. Long story short he sent someone to meet with me and the dealer's service mgr and to take the junker for a ride. This guy sat in the back seat in the middle and watched my foot on the gas pedal to see if I was pushing the pedal up and down to make the car shift hard. WHAT A JOKE! As for the brakes, there is a real problem here. I will assume that most people here would not think that you should have to monitor your brake pads on a NEW car at only 5 or 6000 miles. I have been driving for 30yrs and never have I worn out two pairs of pads in less then 30,000 miles. So for anyone who thinks Chrylser DOESN'T monitor this forum YOUR WRONG!! (just look for my post a while back)
  7. I will check them, thanks... I thought it may have had something to do with the calipers in the rear since you have to screw the pistons down, unlike the fronts. Thanks again...
  8. Yeah, but only a little just to remove any greasy finger prints. Did we do something wrong? UGH...
  9. I just put new rotors and pads on my 09 journey this weekend. Rotors in the real are solid just like they were, the fronts are vented just like they were. The pad ARE NOT ceramic, just regular. Now when i apply them there is a grumble that occurs twice during the braking. Does anyone know what is going on? If I need to replace the pads I want to do it now before the wear into the rotors. :jackinbox:

  11. Just wanted to let Chrysler know after 20yrs of Chrysler products NEVER AGAIN! I can't believe this piece of junk! I had to drive my father who passed away this last July in this crap to and from his chemo and everytime it shifted and jerked his frail body he moaned, how disgusting!!! I also will inform you that I know of 7 people I TALKED OUT OF A JOURNEY at the dealership. Hell even one left and wouldn't buy a Chrysler product. I want you to also know that the internet is a powerful thing and I am doing everything I can to use it to steer people away from Chrysler! For God sakes people 30,000 mile and two sets of brake pads, one rotor cut twice and now once again new pads, and this time new rotors as well. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!!!! NO MORE FROM THIS PERSON and again you can count on many, many more due to my opinion of this piece of junk!
  12. SAME HERE. HAD AN IDIOT FROM CHRYSLER MEET ME AT THE DEALER, HE WENT FOR A RIDE WITH ME AND TOLD ME IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY TO SAVE GAS. WHAT A F**KING JOKE!! MINE SHIFTS HARD FROM 2ND TO 3RD AND ON HWYS SEEMS TO SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEAR AND WILL NOT KEEP SPEED WITHOUT PUSHING THE GAS REPEATEDLY CAUSING A HEAD JERKING SHIFT. GET USED TO IT THEY WON'T ADMIT SOMETHING IS WRONG.
  13. I just had to replace my front pad at 28,000mi, they were worn to NOTHING. I know it's not my driving habits because this has NEVER happened to me before. Anyway, I put ceramic pad on and now I have a squeal in the passenger from when I put the brakes on. I pulled the wheel off reseated the pads, took emery cloth to the rotor and nothing. It doesn't happen all the time, but about 90%. Any ideas??? Thanks.
  14. Check the topic CLUNKING WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE. I have had this problem from day 2 and now with 28,000 miles I still have it.
  15. Hey all check under the trans forum for an update on this car. NEVER AGAIN WILL I OWN A CHRYSLER. 20+ YEARS DOWN THE DRAIN!! I HOPE THEY GO BANKRUPT!!!!
  16. Ok, here is the final update. I got the car back from the dealer and here is what happened. They claim they fixed the "buzzing" in the cowl. I won't know that until the weather warms up since that is when the plastic is softer which is when in occurs. The rough shifting at highway speeds still exists. The engineer who rode with me at the dealer said "it's normal" I asked how in the hell could something like that be normal? His reply was "fuel economy" (WHAT THE HELL). I could not get the car to clunk into reverse or drive when he was with me so yup you guessed it NOT FIXED! The only thing that was fixed was the "thud" noise when the brakes were applied. An infant could have figured out what it was. So instead of putting a new rotor on they cut it! I still have the flicker in the dash when I shut the car off. They "could not duplicate the problem" LOL .... They did manage to keep the car for 18 days which cost me $180.00 since they talked me into taking the extra insurance. At the time I thought it was a good idea, I mean how long could they possibly keep the car? Well as I said 18 DAYS!! We all know they did not work on the car for that amount of time and that most likely it sat there. They told me that the tech took it for a ride everyday to try and make my concerns occur. My guess is someone had to run for the coffee. Bottom line is that since the rental car (exactly the same as my Journey) did not have any of the issues mine has that Chrysler is avoiding "US" with our concerns. Oh, and the guy that I was talking to from Chrysler who I met on here did attempt to help, however he now has a new job and I have only heard from him once since I got the car back. Now for anyone who is having the shifting problem on highways here is something to pay attention to. When I had the loaner I noticed that on the highways I accelerated nice and smooth. When I got mine back I paid extreme attention to this and I think I know what is going on. I believe it is NOT the transmission rather it seems like the car is starving for gas which in turn makes me push harder on the gas, but not enough to really notice unless your paying attention to it. Each time this would happen it gave the impression that it was shifting gears. Now the question is what is causing it and what if anything the dealer will do about it. Looks like we all bought Chrysler's latest LEMONS and they suck so bad I won't even try to make lemonade!! After 20+ years with Chrysler "NO MORE"!!!!
  17. Hey all, Further update... I have not heard a word from the dealer! I am still driving the rented Journey and love it. More to come when I know something!
  18. Hello all, Just wanted to give an update on what is going on with the Journey. The person I met online from Chrysler turned out to be the real deal. He made arrangements with the dealer I bought the car from to have an engineer meet me there to look at my concerned. They also provided me with a loaner car (minus the optional ins.) which turned out to be a Journey. Anyway, we went of a test ride and as expected the transmission didn't act up. When it did do something it was so minor that the engineer said "thats normal" Here's the funny part. After driving the loaner Journey I find that the quick "rough" shifting in my car is much worse than the loaner. Also, when cruising it does not go into and out of gears. It is so smooth that I again love the Journey. Of course this will end when I get mine back because I am sure that since the engineer said it's "normal" the dealer will run tons of tests on it, but not do to much. Also, the loaner has not "clunked" when put in reverse or drive like mine does occasionally. It did not do it once the engineer was with me, but it did do it when I left my house. I knew I wasn't crazy because I had my daughter with me and she backed it up. The other problems like the "thud" when brakes applied was heard. The left turn "grind" will be taken care of as well. Again, I remained VERY concerned with the trans problem, but it's nice to know that I am not hearing/feeling these things. Getting the Journey as a loaner was the luck of God, because again I know mine should not be doing what it is doing. I will keep everyone posted on this when I know more. I will also speak with this guy so that he can assist everyone to the best of his ability. Have a great day...
  19. MJM48 I apologize for my last post, I attempted to send you about 6 messages that day and I thought something may have been wrong because it didn't appear to send. Once again please accept my apology. Also, I received the message and will return it asap. Thanks, Ken
  20. Well I am still at square one with this car. MJM48 said he could help, but I never heard back from him so here I am stuck with a crappy car and nowhere to go...!
  21. hey all, I think I may have someone on the inside who wants to help us with our journey issues. If he turns out to be the real deal then I will ask him to help us all. He seems like the real deal...
  22. I now have a "swoosh" noise coming from the passenger rear of the car when I apply the brakes. There is no shutter, stutter, or anything else. Some passengers have told me recently that they felt a "vibration" under their feet while in the back seat. (5 passenger)... I AM SO READY TO BOMB THIS CAR!!!!
  23. Some people told me not to listen or trust that light, but yesterday mine came on and when I checked the pressure it was down 3psi. AWESOME TOOL !!

I have a 5 passanger and mine came with it. I don't use mine because although the bottom hooks on nicely the top has a somewhat poor design. The loops will come off and it's almost impossible to get them to stay on. Be careful with what you load in it. :car:
