  1. Ok on the kph-the point I was trying to make was that mine shifts to 6th while in Drive at 60 kph under normal acceleration on a flat stretch of road. Under 60 kph if I shift to manual it indicates 5th gear and above 60 kph it indicates 6 th gear. Sorry if I was as clear as mud.
  2. "55mph " I am going to assume you meant 55 KPH. Mine will not got 6th at 55 KPH-the 6 flashes then reverts back to indicate 5th gear. I used KPH as you showed Canada as location 60 KPH = abt 40 MPH.
  3. Yes I would say a visit to the dealer is required as my '11 6 spd shifts to 6th at or about 60 kph under normal acceleration. Try putting in manual shift then shift at 2k rpm up to 5th while keeping it under 60 kph then slowly accelerate to 61/62 kph and manual shift to 6th,you should see it shift at that point.
  4. Car & Driver reports this for the 200 sedan/Pentastar : Zero to 60 mph: 6.3 sec Zero to 100 mph: 16.7 sec Zero to 110 mph: 20.9 sec Street start, 5–60 mph: 6.5 sec Standing ¼-mile: 14.9 sec @ 94 mph Top speed (governor limited): 120 mph Braking, 70–0 mph: 181 ft
  5. You must be doing a lot of idling time because otherwise that's horrible milage. I use Shell Bronze (up to 10% ethanol) around 95% city driving and mine is at 11.5/100km,don't idle much at all and don't use remote start.
  6. I have never bought any vehicle like that. When I buy I give them 500 down and sign for the car at the price quoted then and there and walk out with signed order in my hand. I think your leaving yourself open to a lowball offer that will be changed at delivery. Could be wrong but that's my opinion.
  7. Possibly the rims are not the proper offset for the DJ.
  8. Do you have a sunroof? Possibly if you do the drains are blocked. The leak may be from the AC evap drain assy and migrating rearward during acceleration/parked on a downslope.
  9. You don't indicate what your DJ usage is i.e. trailer towing/ offroading. If the lubricant is burning off it could mean poor circiulation in the galleries, oil pump problems or poor cooling of oil. These lead to the oil burning and that leads to engine failure because of clogged oil galleries.
  10. So it was #1 + #2 fault unusual that it involved both the stock and clockspring. Happy motoring!
  11. Wow that sucks on new DJ! One of 3 things would likely cause those symptoms: 1 Bad control stalk on the column. 2 Clockspring wiring in the steering wheel/column faulty. 3 TIPM (Totaly Intergrated Power Module) reqires reset or reflash. 2012 definitely a dealer call in store.
  12. Yes I would also suggest the battery is a likely culprit as I had the exact same symptoms on my previous Dodge. With all the computers in these vehicles anymore one missed parameter on the CanBus circutry sets the TIPM off into crazy mode.
  13. I will have check mine tomorrow but the only click I hear when applying the brake is the PARK position locking solenoid releasing. I have not paid attention to it when actually driving and I always assumed it only actuated when in PARK and you apply the brake. Try opening the center console in park and touching the brake pedal and listen for it. I am not sure about the DJ but my 07 Caliber was loud and if the PARK position interface cable was out of wack the solenoid did funny things.
  14. Well that's quite the experience, key duplication is a pain in the butt. All the Chrylser automatics have a manual release to get the car out of park,if you have the owners manual it usually describes the process or the dumbass AAA guy or dealer should know how. You didn't say what year your DJ is so not sure about the keyfob battery I know the 2011 model just pops apart for easy replacement. Afraid the keyless start is even going to follow on most new models unless it's a specified option. Good luck!
  15. Never thought of that good point! I guess seeing their plastic (at least the ones I've seen) some judicious measuring and sharp drill bit/Dremel tool would do the job of custom fitting.
  16. Try this link for those items http://www.autoxclusive.com/xclusiveshop/index.php?cPath=7_27_148&osCsid=daa4147f71cb37d6e03f45554465537f
  17. Yes generally the noise from door position roller and detent assy,I use white Lithium based automotive grease to quiet it down.
  18. Well I enjoyed driving my '07 Caliber 2.0L/CVT it was a fun car but it was only 3400 lbs at 158 hp. I was going to buy a DJ in 2010 but I test drove the 2.4L/4 spd auto and in my opinion it was like pushing a marshmellow with a rope, to boot I did not like the style/finish on the dash. When I saw the '11 and test drove the 3.6L I bought one that week.
  19. Yes the so called performance chips for Chrysler World engines are at best a rip off,a few fellows with Calibers tried them and gained nothing but less mpg and rough running engines. The 4 cyls at best appreciate a custom exhaust header, free flow air intake and mod to exhaust system. The 2.4 L (at least in the Caliber) had a special exhaust header and a perfomance one was not availiable.
  20. Here is a link to the story behind the Pentastar engine. http://www.pentastars.com/engines/tech.php
  21. The 2.4 is one of the World engines designed by Chrysler,Mitsubishi and Hyundai. It has been in use since abt 2006,I drove the 2.0L verision for over 5 yrs in a Dodge Caliber during which time I was a member of a Caliber forum and in that time very few of the 1.8,2.0 or 2.4 L reported failure. I was happy with the mpg and peppy response in the Caliber. However when I first test drove a DJ with 2.4 / 4 spd auto I found it lacking probably due to the 4 spd auto. I chose the 3.6 L / 6spd auto and thoroughly enjoy driving it. Check this out: http://www.allpar.com/mopar/world-engine.html
  22. Yes that's a European automotive standard, they also have rear foglights in some regions.
  23. Another thing about Armourall on the dash is that it evaps in the sun leaving a film on the windshield-one more thing to clean.
  24. Sounds as if the installer messed up your DJ can.t help other to suggest you bite the bullet and get it to dealer and if you read the manual it tells you how to manually release the shifter lock solenoid,on the MY11 it's in the console storage box not sure about the MY10.
  25. 2008 and if it is original battery that could be your culprit as they seldom are reliable past 3.5 yrs given your climate.
