  1. Welcome to the board...enjoy for DJ!
  2. I would be cautious due to the clearance of the front brake calipers. I test fitted an OEM steel rim that came from a 2010 Town and Country van and I could see the clearance from the caliper is minimal. Although it would be a headache for you to deal with the garage, it seems they are confident enough and would be willing to replace or not charge you if the wheels/rims don't fit.
  3. Hey DJF....just wondering if anyone has changes their tires by themselves with a jack stand and what jack points you used. I've personally looked under the vehicle to determine the jack points and noticed underneath the front of the vehicle has a rubber puck looking thing. This appears to be bolted on to the body frame; but can't determine if this is an engine mount or an actual jack point we can use. As for the rear of the Journey, I have a dual exhaust Journey, so I cannot seem to be able to use to cross beam on the rear, but instead, I have to use the connecting point of the control arm, where the cross beam meets it....I hope that makes sense. Of course, I will be using axle stands for both the rear, but I just want to ensure I jack up the car at the right points. I observed this set up on a 2011 Dodge Journey Crew, I cannot comment on any previous years or models. if anyone can assist, that would be appreciated! Thanks!
  4. Sorry, only saw your reply now. I would say they stick out just over an inch, but not that long that it make it unsightly.
  5. Welcome...black was my first colour choice, but fell in love with the white colour..plus they only had the 8.4" Crew version in white and I knew it was very limited due to the demand on that 8.4" screen. Mind sharing your waxing techniques on the car? Car looks awesome, that reflection is crazy! Congrats on the purchase...amazing price too!
  6. I know this is an older thread, but just to confirm these are direct bolt, no issues with spacing from the calipers or brakes? Have the opportunity to grab 17" rims and tires from a Caravan SXT. Thanks in advance!
  7. This appears to be normal for the Journey. I've noticed that it tends to stick to the higher gears unless you really push down the pedal or shift to that gear yourself. Although we don't have the ECO mode option to turn on or off, I think Dodge specifically programmed the speed to gear ratio to save on gas...
  8. Just did another run this past weekend to Buffalo, same speed and came out with 8.2L/100kms...now with 3600km on the odometer! This time, it was filled with 5 guys, luggage, and a filled cooler. Aside from the fuel economy, my friends gave the thumbs up on the Journey, they found it very quiet, powerful, and comfortable..they really enjoyed the fact that the 2nd row seats can be lowered/tilted back especially on the way back after a full weekend of drinking and partying
  9. This is just a heads up to those who have the 2011 Journeys...I know the roof racks are not included and only come with the side railings vs the 2010s and lower. I managed to pick up a Thule set (TR4547FR) but found out after that the load bars were too short(47" are a inch short that does not allow you to put the end caps properly), although this model can be purchased through dealerships. Thule did manage to resolve the issue by sending me a pair of RB50 load bars which are 50 inches, instead of the 47 inches that were included in the package. If you look at the THULE fit guide books, they recommend the RB47 load bars; they fit near the back of the Journey, but will NOT fit the front. The only downside is the fit of the 50" load bars is the clean look as the bars stick out now compared to shorter length. Hope to have pics up soon with them on the top.
  10. thanks for the link coolram...I'm also interested in the Journey Rear Bumper Cover...gonna try and find a cheaper price though...
  11. I also noticed with the new pads and rotors, there's barely any brake dust now in the fronts vs the rears that just are covered in the dust!
  12. I'm going to revive this thread and ask some questions regarding the HIDs: -If I install HIDs, will the headlights still remain on or when unlocking, will they turn on? -Given the 2011 have the 'Auto' headlight function, will this still work if HIDs are installed? I really like the feature of not needing to turn on the headlights and let them automatically turn on Thanks in advance!
  13. When I brought the Journey in and mentioned the flash to the service advisor he didn't believe that was the issue and rather contact Dodge engineering and replace the whole unit on mine. I for one wouldn't mind, but at the same time find it too consuming. I will ask the service advisor and see if he can flash it.
  14. Just an update, I took mine in early this morning and they ended up replacing pads and rotors on mine. Mine only had 1900kms and it was squealing from day one of pick up. Glad service did this quick and also didn't give me run around. I suggest if you guys have the same issue, get it checked asap.
  15. First road trip and wanted to give some feedback on my mileage. Car is just over 1500kms, was averaging 8.8L/100km to and from Buffalo was about 400+ kms in total with an avg speed of 120km/h Car handled great, the power was there, but just wish the engine would 'learn' more on the driving habits...I guess it still needs some time to break in more. I also bought and installed Thule roof racks on the way back. Aside from a bit of wind noise, it did not impact the fuel economy
  16. Doesn't the change from 225 to 235 make the odometer slower by 1.5%? Is there anyway of getting this also modified at a Dodge dealership to read both the speed and odometer reading correctly?
  17. For those who got it fixed, was it the same issue as above, a stuck caliper? I've only had my Journey for 2 weeks and have the brakes squeal at very low speeds, less than 10km/hr, but cannot replicate when braking from a faster speed.
  18. Nice Journey...the front bumper appears to be the older version, am I correct?
  19. Check to see if the sound variance is set to high. It may be compensating from the start up of the engine. Ever turn it off before shutting the car down and turning the radio on after you start the engine?
  20. Anyone have any pics of 16s on their Journey? I know I can check out a base SE, but would like to see some pics of steelies and if it looks funny or not. I was thinking either grabbing 16" Wrangler rims or even the 17"...I presume these two options would also fit over the brakes and rotors?
  21. I believe you can also fit Jeep Wrangler rims...they too are 5x127
  22. thanks drb...maybe it's only available on the R/T version...but I swear they were discussing this in the CD manual. I figured that the ball was for the automatic headlights, but also wondered if it acted as the rain sensing wipers. I guess I'll just keep checking on that.
  23. After reviewing my owners manual on the CD that Dodge provided, they mentioned that our cars are equipped with rain sensing wipers. However, I cannot seem to confirm that it is an option available on our 2011 Dodge Journeys (Canadian version). In particular, I have the CREW, but cannot seem to confirm this on the specifications on the Dodge site as well. It also stated that there's an option within the 8.4 screen to adjust the settings for the sensing the rain, but cannot find it at all, was this removed or is this an extra feature/package? There appears to be translucent ball near the windshield that I presumed was how it sense the amount of rain, but cannot confirm that this is for the rain sensing wipers. Thanks in advance!

Congrats, I'm still jaw dropped over the overall look! I don't particular am attracted to American cars, love JDM cars all my life, but this Journey really struck a note on it's styling! I signed off on a CREW model too 5 seater in white. The car is already on the lot and is being prepared for delivery on Monday; Silver was my second choice, but they didn't have any on the lot with the package I was looking for and also the wife's car was silver already, so we wanted a bit of a change.
  25. To be honest, I think it's too expensive from the dealership and turned it down just now before they started prepping my Journey for delivery on Monday. I've used Krown every other year for my Lancer and I have had no rust issues, aside from surface rust due to rock chips, but it has never spread nor ate through the metal. I figured the body of our Journey has gone through some rust proofing at the plant; dipping it into their solution before assembly. I will probably take it to a rust proofing place next year, but ensuring that I wash off majority of salt and debris during the winter months to ensure salt does subside on the car.
