  1. The dealership I bought the car from suggested the Cilajet. They are an authorized dealer. They clay bar the whole exterior before application. The Cilajet cures for 24 hours, then it is buffed out. No waxing is needed for the 10 year warrenty, however you can use a pure carnuba paste wax if you want. New vehicles cost $600. Used vehicles are more because of the extra work needed to clean the vehicle back to the original paint. All exterior paint, rims, exterior glass, seats, carpet, and floor mats were treated. After 3 years, they will re-apply if you think it needs done again.
  2. My defrost on my 2011 comes on automatically when I use my remote start. Not sure if temperature has an effect on wether the defrost comes on or not.
  3. The screen is just that, a screen. Kinda like a monitor. The radio is behind and below the screen, behind the hard controls. Just had my radio replaced. The dealer called Sirius and had them activate the service on the new radio before it was even shipped. The satelite worked when the radio was powered up.
  4. Dodgecares, Where does it display oil life remaining?
  5. Movie will show on the screen while in park. The screen will go blank when you shift out of park. The only way around that is a lockpic as mentioned above.
  6. Actually, I took it in with the TSB number and said "I need this TSB done". The dealer was the one that suggested putting in a new radio. When they called Dodge to order one, Dodge wanted to test the radio first. I would have been happy with just a re-flash. I'm sure Dodge wouldn't just throw in a new radio if it wasn't needed.
  7. Only if they are programmed from the factory. I can't turn mine on even with the 8.4
  8. Radio was flashed three times. Once to unlock the amp, once to fix phone screen coming up when bluetooth connected and once to fix the artwork showing up with ipod. Phone screen started showing up again, navigation quit showing up in EVIC, now AM/FM issue. Dodge was reluctant to put a new radio in, but with all the issues decided to replace the radio. BCM was also flashed for long crank times causing the check engine light to come on.
  9. The AM/FM wouldn't have sound when first started. Turn off and start right back up and radio worked. Dealer thought it was the antenna not getting powered up. They had it for two days with equipment hooked up to it to try and figure it out. Had to prove to Dodge that it was the radio before Dodge would replace it.
  10. Dealer is replacing my 8.4 under warranty. I was told the radio is about $3700 to replace everything.
  11. Same thing with mine. No AM/FM but had sound from satelite, CD, and bluetooth. Shut the car off and restart, and sound would come on.The dealer thought no power going to the antenna. Antenna tested good. They had all kinds of equipment hooked up to the radio for two days. They had to prove the radio was bad before Dodge would replace it. They currently have a new radio on order from Dodge.
  12. I don't have the lockpic. Was thinking about getting one, but was wondering how the warrenty would be affected.
  13. Underside was not done. Yeah the Cilajet is amazing. Easier to keep the black looking good.
  14. Just wondering if warrenty issues are covered with lockpic installed. My Journey has been in the shop two whole days so far with radio issues. No AM/FM in the mornings. It has had a few TSB's done already. Dealer wants to put whole new radio in, Dodge says no. Dealer has to prove the radio is bad before they will replace the $3,700 radio
  15. The dealer I got my Journey from applied Cilajet. It is an aviation grade protectant. All exterior, wheels, glass and interior was done. Nothing sticks to it, not even paint (has to be removedin the event of an accident before repaint) and has a 10 year warrenty. Any spots on the seats or carpet that won't come out, Cilajet will pay to have carpet replaced. New vehicles cost $600. More for used vehicles. Their website is www.cilajet.com
  16. Probably access to screws holding the controls up.
  17. I was told by the salesman the sub was 6". I haven't seen anything that does support that. The window sticker just says w/subwoofer. The brochure has nothing on it either. Not sure if Crutchfield or another stereo site would have specs on factory systems or not. The link generaltso provided says 8", but also says it has 6x9 shelf speakers. 6x9 are in the rear doors also.
  18. I have no AM/FM when the Journey is first started. Shut the car off and restart and the radio starts working again. Took it to the dealer to have the radio reflashed. Since the radio has been flashed two times prior for other issues, they ordered a new radio.
  19. I have the 8.4N. The direction shows up in the upper portion of the EVIC. Also shows in the middle of the navigation icon on the screen. Not sure about the 4.3S, does it have navigation? The "N" in 8.4N means navigation. Not sure if that helps you, but at least a start on what to look for.
  20. Subwoofer is in the trunk, driver's side behind the grill. Not much of one as it is only a 6" sub. Has about as much punch as the 6x9's in the door.
  21. I'm not trying to talk you out of a Journey, as there are many on here including me that love ours. I have the third row in my 2011.The third row is accessed thru moving the second row seat forward. This, however can not be done with a car seat tethered to the anchor spots. There may be room in the second row for two car seats and a booster. I have my grandson's seat in the back from time to time and have had two other people in there with him in his seat.
