  1. From the album: 2011 Journey R/T

Just put 3 coats of wax on it!
  2. On my 2011, I've noticed that the rear bumper (fascia) isn't staying well aligned where it meets the body panels. The line over by the rear headlamps - the plastic rear fascia keeps sort of "popping out". I can push it back in and it stays for a while but after a while I'll look and it'll be popped out again. It's like there's no bolt or clip behind it to keep it locked down... Anyone else seen this?
  3. According to Chrysler insiders over at the Allpar forums, production on the 2011's has already ended. Dealers cannot even order a 2011 at this point. 2012's should start showing up pretty shortly.
  4. Hey Geer, Since we're both in the 'peg, I'm curious to know which dealer this was. Never mind. I can see the dealer badge in your photos. Based on your experience, I'm surprised you've left the dealer's plate brackets and sticker on there. We dealt with Eastern and it was an AMAZING experience! We went there because they were the only local dealer on the Car Cost Canada program. We got a great deal and they treated us like gold from the first contact to the moment we drove away. This was the third car I'd bought from a dealer, and the second brand new, and I can't say enough how different the experience was at Eastern. I HIGHLY recommend.
  5. Wow man, that's fantastic! Sounds like you just got one of the few lemons out there. It happens with every make and model. At least either way you do not have to deal with that particular vehicle again. Congats on obtaining a satisfactory resolution for your problem.
  6. No problem! At first I too couldn't believe how bad the sound was - nothing but piercing high end! I didn't push the sound all the way to the back, but just start nudging it back until I found the sweet spot where it rolled off the highs enough to sound balanced. And yeah, where IS the sub? I haven't seen it yet, but my option sheet says it's there.
  7. I noticed this at first too. One thing I found that really helped is to adjust the front/rear balance of the speakers. Those front speakers are nothing but trebble. Once I shifted the position of the sound rearward, things improved significantly. Keep in mind as well, that brand new speakers tend to be a bit shrill in the highs until they break in a bit.
  8. It's not always substantial (at least to start). I used to have an Eagle Talon and I had no idea it was in trouble until one day a friend was driving behind me and told me that my exhaust was blowing blue under acceleration.
  9. Higher than normal oil consumption... blue smoke in the exhaust... sorry to say man, but every vehicle I've ever seen do that (and usually they're old by then) was burning oil in the combustion chambers. In my experience, it usually meant the piston rings were shot and the engine's days were numbered. I have no idea if that's what's going on here, but it sounds like yours is definitely burning oil. Sounds like when it's been sitting oil is somehow able to seep into the actual combustion path, so when you start the engine it's burning off through the exhaust. Either way, that's a serious problem. Keep notes and records. If the dealer doesn't resolve things, call Chrysler directly.
  10. You have to be very careful using Armour All in Dodge vehicles. I used to use the protectant wipes in my 01 Neon and I began getting bubbling of the finish on the dash. For my 06 Caravan, all I would usually use is a Swiffer duster (works really well) and sometimes car cleaning wipes on just the areas where fingers and hands have contact with (steering wheel, console buttons, door handles, etc). Had the Caravan for 5 years and the interior still looked almost new when I sold it.
  11. I'd be interested as well. I had the same problem as Saskguy where the dealer didn't know the bluetooth was an additional option on top of the UConnect system. I'm not sure I want it so much to use it, rather than just the fact that it's the only option missing from my Journey.
  12. Still, that button is extremely handy! Something that my Caravan never had so I didn't even think to look for it on the Journey. I actually kind of discovered it by accident one day. Nice to not have to take the key fob out of your pocket to lock or unlock the rear every time - especially if you're loading in or out of somewhere and you can't leave the vehicle open and unattended.
  13. Congrats on your new Journey and welcome to the Dodge family!
  14. Anyone know what that little square is on the front bumper? I've always wondered...
  15. If you feel around under the lip on the back hatch where the handle that opens the door is - the handle is on the right side, but if you feel over to the left side there is a rubber covered button there that unlocks (or locks) the car. It took me a few weeks before I realized it was there too. If you look in the manual it also tells you about it.
  16. This is why when it happened in my Neon, I put an aftermarket battery in rather than another Mopar battery.
  17. This happened to me once when I had my 01 Neon. Same thing - faulty battery. Funny thing is there's no warning - no trouble cranking one day and the next day just stone cold dead.
  18. Wait, does your 8.4 system actually have "Playlists" available in the audio browsing? Many of us have had trouble where Playlists are missing when browsing music...
  19. Cool! I found the thread, thanks! I'm going to bring it up at my first oil change. Funny how the dealer still wants me to come in at 3 months and 5000 km when the manual states 6 months and 13,000 km for first service.
  20. I seriously hope there is no way to unlock to allow for movies to be watched on the 8.4 while driving. Sure, your kid just wants to play some games, but then some other moron is going to do it so he can watch movies while he's driving and end up killing someone on the highway. No, no, no. Just buy an iPad for the kids to play with on trips.
  21. Hi Greer! I'm also from Winnipeg and I've got almost the same identical R/T as you! Only difference I see is that you ended up with the new fascias and I got the holdover ones on the early year builds. Mine: I've thought about the chrome door sill guards, but my only hesitation is that winter salt water could get trapped underneath and create a breeding ground for rust. Anyone know if this is a problem in the 4 season places like Canada?
