  1. I am still waiting for "some" development on the issue. My vehicle has the mirror installed, it has "the" place for the knockouts for the controll buttons on the wheel, the build sheet (if you don't have yours, call customer records and asj them to send it to you) tells me that I have the headlight dimming sensor in the mirror too and that dont work either. In addition to all of this my radio, since purchase, intermittently simply does not come on when I start the car. AM and FM dont work but Sat does. After ten months of flash updates they finally replaced the radio. You will never guess, they use rebuilt radios to fix radios. I had just spent almost 200 dollars to upgrade my maps - of course with the new radio I am back to the older version of the maps. Oh well, use the DVD to upgrade. No prob. Right? Well new radio doesnt read any disks. So a new one is on order. All I can say Uconnect, I would like to Connect Uconnect with my boot. Jeez, radios have been in cars for a long time. Here I am on the first anniversary of my car and a (well rhymes with trucking) radio still not working.
  2. Hi all: I ordered my upgrade yesterday (Mar 20). It is in Montreal now and scheduled for delivery to St. John's NL by 5:00 PM tomorrow (Mar 22). That's pretty good turnaround. I spent some time on the phone with Uconnect, Garmin, Navteq and Chyrsler customer care. Chyrsler and Unconnect were zero help. Garmin informed me that they only license the software from Navteq and do not provide the upgrade. I called Navteq and they told me that most people only upgrade their maps every other year. The new release came out in January 2012. In all cases I pleaded that I have two Garmin products: the one in my Journey and a Nuvi 255W (for which I purchased lifetime upgrades). It seems that I was the only one impressed by that. So my 2012 DVD is on its way. I like having the current versions available but the $149 + $30 was a bit steep but at least I will have upto date maps. After my post on the Bluetooth fiasco and now the map upgrade I feel like the disease that keeps on giving and giving and giving - if you catch my drift.
  3. I am sorry I don't. I heard from the dealer today and with some discounts on parts and labour they got the price down to $1,100. Still way too much for the option, What I do know is that the parts have to be purchased separately. The module that goes up under the steering column is $701 and the insert on the wheel is apx $100 and about 5 hours labour. I am told that if the manufacturer puts it in a kit, the price could drop by as much as 50%. I am at a loss to figure this one out. Needless to say I will stick with my $100 Motorola Roadster for now. It works well but not the same as it would if it was integrated into the vehicle sound system.
  4. It is a good news bad news story here. Just got off the phone with the dealer. The parts are now available to get the voice activated bluetooth option in my 2011 R/T with 8.4 Uconnect. The $300 option at purchase is now $701 for the module to go inside the dash, $100+ for the buttons on the wheel and five hours to install. The GD $300 option is now going to cost $1,300+ to get it installed. I have the build sheet for my Journey and I have the right mirror with microphones built in, I have all the harnesses to do the install and it is still going to cost $1,300 plus to have what should be as basic at the steering wheel. I love the vehicle but I am really pissed at this deveopment. Only saying !!!!!!!!
  5. First of all I appreciate being able to monitor these discussions on the various issues around the Journey. I have a 2011 V6 R/T. Great features and options and a great vehicle. Alas, I am without Bluetooth VC as well. I purchased mine in May and have been really frustrated at not having and not being able to get it. I am using an interim measure but its not what I wanted nor what I thought I was getting. In having said that, I under the impression that "someday" it will be available. I ordered the build-sheet for my vehicle and discovered that the dual mics are in my mirror and that the add-on would simply mean a software update to the UConnect 8.4 and that the wires are in the wheel to receive the buttons that would be part of the upgrade. On another note, my mirror has a forward facing sensor that is suppose to dim my highbeams with oncoming traffic. You MIGHT be surprised to know, that doesnt work either because it is not an option on my car even though its all in place. Sometimes I feel like the guy looking through the window at the supermarket but cant find a way to get at the food inside. Still love the car though but I will be very skeptical about another Chrysler.
  6. Hey there. I am suffering the same frustration just trying to find out if it will EVER be available. My dealer found the my 2011 R/T in Montreal and had it sent to St. John's NL for me. The only option missing was the BT. Unless I am missing something here, the mirror in my vehicle has the two microphones for the VC/BT, the steering wheel does not have the two phone buttons but the knock-out is there, after that it seem to me that it would be a software upgrade to the uconnect to have the phone icon added to the 8.4 screen. AND, I can't get answers from anyone. Still love the vehicle though!!!!
  7. I am in my third week with my 2011 R/T. In week one the first tank was all highway it ended up at 12.8L/100kms after about 700kms. Second tank was 60/40 highway/city and reading was 13.5L/100kms after about 400kms. I am 1/4 way through tank 3 almost all highway 10.8L/100kms after about 280 kms. I am getting happier all the time. One note to this, the litres put in at fillups is not far off what I was getting in my 2008 CRV with a four-cylinder - that makes me really happy because I find the power in the engine is about 110 hp more and when cruising along at 115 kph engine is only turning over at about 1500 - 1700 rpm vs 2500 - 3000 in CRV. I have other issues but will look for appropriate post for those - like dead battery 5 days after purchase or getting dodge to source bluetooth for U-connect.
  8. Well I did it. I took delivery of my 2011 Journey R/T on Saturday April 30th. First highway trip was from Sunday May 1st - Wed May 4 th. By the time I had driven 300 Kms I was in love. The pep in the engine was a big change from my 165 hp CRV ride was smooth and tight. 4 days later leaving my house it was dead in my driveway still no cause found. Anyone else ever hit this stiuation?

  9. I am considering a 2011 Journey R/T. Currently I own a 2008 CRV EX-L. Things I would like advice on relate to fuel consumption and is it possible to have BlueTooth added. The one I am thinking about has the nav package but not BlueTooth. Thoughts???
