  1. Quite honestly I never inquired about the silver one as I preferred the black one.

I was in Hamilton ON this am and checked with "ACTION CAR AND TRUCK ACCESSORIES"

on Lake Ave N. and they have the large format similar to the one I had on my Caliber

for $36.00 so I ordered one of those,it's sold under the brand name of "POWERFLOW".

I should have Friday or Saturday.

If it fits, post back with a pic if at all possible:)

  2. Sorry, I misunderstood your last post, that had sherwood included in where you checked at, and misread that they needed the part information. Sorry for the confusion.

What would be interesting to note - According to their eBay store, the black doesn't fit the 2011, but the silver one does fit the 2011? Were they able to confirm the silver one works for 2011's? I would think with that information they may be able to spec it out?

  3. Note - the Hood Protection isn't the bug deflector... It didn't come with one (and the none of the ones on the lot come with them either). My only guess is that it is some kind of plastic shield or something that was on there, but I didn't really notice that either... But I didn't look too closely at it. There didn't appear to be any dealer installed accessories other than was was mentioned under the Northern Package unfortunately.

  4. @drb227 - Thanks - For some reason I was thinking the VC was only a $200 correction. I think I confused it with the Booster Seat option.

And yeah - the "Northern Package" is a rip... Mine came with it, but I was able to get them to drop it from the price when I bought my 2011.... The interesting this is the 2012 shown here doesn't have tire and rim protection that was included when I bought mine... The tire and rim protection was a part of the 2011 Northern Package and covers any damage that happens on a public street to the tires/rims for 5 years... So if I hit a curb or something, they will replace the rim/tire. I imagine with the 19" tires, they discontinued offering it due to the price it would cost to fix/replace tires and rims.

It's intersting that ti says Incandescent stop/tail lamp, I looked at the tail lamps, and they were LED same as the 2011's.

@Greer - I didn't notice any difference in the tires to be honest.

  5. Hey @drozz - Yes, you can drop down to 16's... They would need to be OEM (or OEM Spec) in order to clear the calipers. There are a few users including myself that have 16's for the Journey. The base model Journey comes with 16" rims. You can also use 16" rims from a grand caravan.

  6. So I had my Journey in today for a service, and was walking around the lot... And I found a couple 2012 Journey's there... I didn't take a picture of the Journey itself. It appears to be identical to the 2011 with the new fascia.

One thing I noticed, it did have the VC and BT, and also only the 4.3 screen which was to be expected.

The model I saw was an R/T AWD, but was not very well equipped. No sun roof, no backup camera, etc. There were a couple price changes... the VC&BT option is now $300. The Chrome clad wheels are now $600.

So from what it appears, there really isn't any change from 2011 to 2012.

Attached is the window sticker of the R/T. I apologize for the reflection. Was actually a sunny day and was hard to get a decent picture.

  7. If those are the part #'s for the 2011 with LED tail/brake lights, then yes, that's exactly what I needed. Apparently the 09-10 harness is no the same. It still surprises me that I am the first 2011 owner in my area to ask the dealer about the harness.

    Thanks!

That's the harness that I have for my 2011 R/T :) Hope it helps

  8. When you say the German one, are you talking about the one that I believe is available through AutoXclusive? I thought that was made to fit the Journey, so I am a little surprised it didn't fit. I believe a few other users have used it on their Journey. Could you elaborate on what part didn't fit correctly? or what it looked like? I was strongly considering getting it for my Journey, but am a little hesitant with your post that it doesn't fit correctly.

  9. So the washer trick worked for a while, but eventually stopped working. I went to the hardware store today and picked up one of those dual tubes of epoxy and used that... I epoxied it where the clip connects to the bumper, and also on the top as well. Seems to be holding up well so far, and looks perfect so far... Will be interesting to see how it holds up to the weathering...

  10. It's interesting to see the difference in packaging between a US and Can trim levels. The 2011 SE model is the Express here where as the SE Plus is basically the Mainstreet without the V6. Or am I missing something and the V6/6 speed auto included in the $1200 price difference of the SE Plus? To confuse things more ,at first, the SE is back in the US lineup for 2012. The SXT reads like a mix of Mainstreet and Crew. The cargo cover goes for about $250 US from the dealer and you have to wonder if a non equipped car will have the provisions in the rear trim panels for it. The sunscreen glass is a plus but that would be the only thing that would be easy to add afterward (depending on vehicle laws where you live).

The dealer brochures are usually printed before the models hit the showroom floor and are rarely updated during the model year. The website is so much easier and less expensive to update but that fact doesn't make it any less irritating. The US website ,brochure and even the window sticker of my Mainstreet differ somewhat in equipment.

The express and SE in Canada are both 4 cylinders.

  11. If the difference in price between the 2 models is only $1200, I'd probably just go with the SE. The roof rack rails are handy. Even if you don't plan to use them right now, there may be a time in the future that you do. The tinted windows are also a nice touch. And above that, you'll also get the cargo cover that you're looking for.

  12. Unfortunately a lot of dealers were misinformed about uConnect and what it actually includes. For the Journey, all uConnect refers to is the touchscreen... Whether it be the 4.3 or the 8.4... It was very poorly worded when it came out and the VC and BT was an extra $200 add on. From everything I understand there is no current way to get VC and BT if it didn't come with it from the factory unfortunately. I have also heard from my dealer (correct or not) that the Mopar bluetooth isn't even compatible with the new uConnect setup in the 2011's.
