  1. maybe that was it because he said he could not find the serial number last week.....3 weeks ago he said it would be here by the end of the month.....I will see if i can get my VIN number tomorrow

Ya Lagers sure makes you wonder don't it? Keep me posted for your VIN. I have to stop by the dealer tomorrow and see what he has found. I have a mind to wait for this one I had on order just to see if the VIN is what it was suppose to be and to see what is offered for "compensation". I just may just to see some back pedalling.

If he has something for us, great if not, I'll wait.

Hey great idea by the way dencord123!!! Can anyone in the States please check my VIN for me, the last 8#'s are 9T208467 ????

    Rob

  2. I've found the Customer Assistance phone number for Canada. The corresponding number in the US is where you call to get your order status. Could someone in Canada try this number and report back whether it works? You'll need your vehicle order number (VON) to get your status.

    1-800-465-2001 (English) or 1-800-387-9983 (French)

hey Nicetrip. I called that number (the 465-2001, for urgent matters)and even in my situation the lady said to me the dealer is the only one with the tracking #. They are not allowed to release that info. They are the only ones who can check on the oreder status. I mentioned to her that the dealer is doing nothing for me, Also that I got ahold of Chrysler Canada through e-mail. I got an autometed response saying it will be answered in 3 business days & working days later, no response. I told her I will cancel my order today (March 24th) if you can't help. Her reply was that she can't do anything, it is the dealer that has to release information, she has no access to it.

  3. Maybe its a western Canada thing.....I ordered my loaded (without the nav) on Mar 24th....Dealer called 3 weeks ago says that its built...I called last week and they can't find it...hasn't been shipped yet, said he will get back to me...haven't heard from him in a week.....maybe mine fell off the truck with your Rob.....60 days waiting today

Hey Lagers, where did you order yours from? Also what was the last 6 digits of your VIN? mine is/was 208467 and the next one behind me (#68) is also invalid,...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

No phone call from dealer yet, says he is trying to locate one for us

  4. First of all, thanks guys, I am trying to hang in there, trust me.

I am back now as of noon Friday. Worked 16 hrs on Tuesday, 15 1/2 on Wednesday and 14 on Thursday. Came home after the 2 hour drive and said to work SEE YA!!!!!!!!!!! I taking off early. Feeling woozy and out of the norm routine but I figure it is from all the hard hours.

    ANYHOW!!!!!!!!!

Update, stopped by the dealer this morning on my way home and the salesman was not in, the salesmanager was not in so then then asked for the store manager,.... he's not in either. She (the receptionist asked what was it about and I said the 09 journey on order for the last 10 weeks she interrupts and says it normally takes this long. I was nice and agreed with her but why is my VIN Invalid now and my shipp date was April 23rd. She has really nice eyes when they are wide open :hysterical: all she said was............oh. So still waiting for my phone call from either of them???????????????????????????

Wife is away running errands and we will discuss the future of our Journey.

    Rob

PS WOW was it ever nice to click on the "new posts" button and have a FULL page of reading. A bunch of new owners and Jay is ready to Order Keith has his, Roxie (missing you ) has an issue with the DVD. The Dark Nav/DVD screen issue Rick's is just about there. Glad to hear Keith that it handles "like on rails" in the rail.

    Sure glad to be back

  5. yes Seth, e put 1000 down. They needed to get another car in from another dealer. I think it was because we showed up in our 92 caravan, nothing new at all. Salesman said they wanted to be sure of the sale as they would have to give up a Journey in order to get another.

The swapping of Journey's didn't happen (other dealer would not release it). This was ligit cause the other dealer (Dealer #2 was trying to get the same Journey, not released) So we just left the $1000 in place and ordered the one we wanted. We went through the process of ordering and the VIN was assigned after about 3 weeks. We had a valid VIN, I even checked on the recall and it was there. But after all the BS, I just thought I would try it again,.... and it came up as the Invalid VIN.

Went to the Dealer Saturday Morning and the salesman came up to me right away and commented that he got my e-mail and was very concerned and caring too. Like I said he is a great salesman. I asked him how come our VIN is now "Invalid"? he had said that he is going to look into it When the salesmanager came in.

    2 things came to mind,....

    1) That is why I got a new shipping date of May 16th instead of April 23rd

    2) that is why they said the begining of June I should have it.

They (the salesmanager) Know about this oops and that is why my VIN is still showing D1 it never did get shipped (IMHO)

either way if it gets really rough, we have a great media out here and has what is called a "The Troubleshooter" It is plastered all over TV advertising bad publicity. I really doubt it will get to this point but who knows.

Just got in the door from a weekend of traveling 1200km's and wished we had the Journey but oh well. No e-mail from the dealer at all. (they were open all day Saturday)

    Rob

Ok off for a week now, see you around

  6. I stubled on this, this is VERY interesting

went to the recall information to type in the VIN # 9T208467 which is the last 8 numbers of our VIN # and guess what happens,....

    http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/...%2Findex_en.jsp

now type in your VIN #

let me know the results pleas

Seems like 2 VIN# are like WTF

    9T208466 SXT AWD

9T208467 Is Not A Valid VIN <------------ OURS

9T208468 Is Not A Valid VIN

    9T208469 Good VIN R/T AWD

also interesting the first VIN I found was 9T138035 with a recall as well as 9T138050

    "Drive Plate Bolts"

    Rob

  7. Ordered my SE plus loaded white Journey o Mar 24th....Talked to the dealer yesterday and he said it was built but it still at the factory, no VIN number yet. Looks like I'm the only one that went with the SE on this site. Has anyone else ordered a SE? On Monday it will be 8 weeks since I ordered. I hate waiting.... I'm from Saskatchewan Canada

just re-read your post, you ordered March 24th and DO NOT have a VIN # yet???????????? I think we had our VIN about 3-4 weeks later. I think what I would do is do a search of dealers in " ;) Saskabush " either through Canadatrader.com or go through a provincial search. We have the "Alberta Dodge Dealers" and can search through there.

keep us posted. Geez and I thought I had it bad :fool:

    Rob

  8. I know around here, the dealerships are only allowed a certain amount of "stock" Journeys at a time, and there were 3 here when I started looking at them. Since then they have been sold, and my dealer also noted that dealers from "far away lands" have been calling and hounding to offer to but them.......

HMMMMM, I wonder what kind of price one could get to auction off a Journey right now? Can anyone say highest bidder?

Just kidding, after this wait, we could never part with her.

    Rick.

:hysterical3: Rick, sell me yours I've got cash just burning a hole in the pocket :hysterical:

    Rob (highest bidder)

  9. Yes, this forum has really taken off in the last week, with alot of new members, and alot of new deliveries. It might be time to start a new topic for new owner experiences. Sort of like a "diary".

    Rick.

Rick, that is a GREAT IDEA!!!!

STAFF can we add another topic in the Dodge Journey Forum titled New Owner Diaries

    Rob

  10. Rob,

That is absurd. It should have never taken this long. Seth

couldn't agree more Seth, hence the e-mail to the dealer,.........

First things First, we have nothing against you John, NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! But Shirley and I have decided after talking about the Journey. We will give it another week and if the car comes in, then great we will buy it. If after the 24th and the Journey is still not in, we will be seriously looking at something else. We need this vehicle and Shirley says enough is enough and after 9weeks (9th week started today) we will cancel the order. It is nothing against the dealership at all, it is just not being able to get us the car we want in a timely manner.

Like I mentioned John, you are a super guy and I think a great asset to the Sherwwod Park team but we do need this car.

John, let me know what you think and how we stand with the order "EXACTLY"

    Robert & Shirley

Also contacted Chrysler Canada. shake it up a bit

    Rob (tired of waiting)

  11. I'll get all that info as well as the VIN # for you, Rob. Great to be here. Traded in my baby, 04 Honda Element for this vehicle. They had a wonderful forum also and I'm looking forward to speaking with all of you as well.

    Best,

    Xphyle

Great, thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!! I too am looking forward to the forum growing. This Forum is a GREAT PLACE!!!!!!!!!

    Rob

  12. well well well,

stop by the dealership today and ask about the missing Journey? His reply

    Still the same. :rant2: <---me

well then, what is the code/status the Journey is in?

he said it was in D1

    D1........... :rant2:

D1 – gateline: plant has sequenced the unit for production, estimated ship date assigned

Told him I am about to scrape the whole deal 2 months is long enough, I love the new Taurus X loaded up.

He was like "But Rob you are soooo close" felt like saying But you guys are sooooooooooooo FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am away next week (out of town for a display Kitchen in a Home Depot). When I get back Saturday the 24th of May it's either the car or the deal is off, DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the 9th week Today.

  13. Hi all. I was planning on picking up my Journey at the dealership tomorrow, but just got a call from them telling me they were just notified of a recall and they are not allowed to let me take possession of the vehicle now until the recalled item is fixed. They are waiting on the part and hope to have the issues resolved within the week. At this time they were unable to tell me what the nature of the recall was. I'm sure it will be worth the wait as it took a long time for me to find a Journey that was loaded with all the options INCLUDING the Nav system which was a pain to find.

    Glad to find this forum.

    Xphyle

welcome to the forum, and be sure to let us know what the recall was for. They had a Journey in stock with the Nav system, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! what are the first 3 numbers of your VIN PM me rather than put it out in the open. mine is XXXXXXXXXXT208XXX beinterested in knowing what yours is. I have a few other member's Vins. I am trying to figure out when the Nav was being installed.

Great for you finding exactly what you wanted. ALL the dealerships I have been to, none have had the Nav system yet

    Rob

  14. Thats great Rick,

I thought it would be a close race since our VINs are so close. Oh Well, by next week there will be 2 more Journeys on the highways of the Ottawa Valley. Maybe by then we will start seeing a few more.

Make sure you keep close tabs on it from the time it arrives at the lot. I snaped some pictures right away like Rob indicated and now I have them on my computer. Digital Cameras are wonderful!

My Journey gets rust proved tonight and delivery is tomorrow at 1:30.

    Good Luck,

    Keith

1:30PM tomorrow, I'll bet you are all excited hey? Be sure to post some pictures far others to drool over ;-)

on a side note I seen my first green Journey, it was all dirty, poor Journey

    Rob

  15. Thanks for the replies.... The status code is "D". My sales rep actually checks daily to see if has changed. He is going to be off next Tues. and Wed. so he will check again Monday right before he leaves. He has been pretty good with calling me back when I call in. I also was able to find the status by calling Chrysler Customer support and just providing my VIN and VON.

I was hoping that my car would be built the same time Rob's was being built since we both had the NAV system.

I am hanging in there. This site has helped a bunch.

Hey Rob .. We almost have the same aged kids. I have a girl who is 7 and a boy who is 12. Girl is about 4 feet 4 inches. My son is 5 foot 7. They are both excited about the car too, but say I am just obsessed with this whole thing. All they see me doing is looking at this site or searching other information about the Journey.

I am glad I am not alone.

    Seth

Hey Seth, that is cool we have the same aged kids :slapfight: , and it is OK to be obsessed with the Journey too

I went by the dealership 2 times today Once at 6am and then again in the afternoon, just waiting for it. Obsessed is when you get up at 5:30 am just to go and see if the car is at the dealership, oh wait :hysterical:

  17. Got the call tonight. Delivery will be Friday afternoon.

Had a meeting tonight so I went down to the dealer after they had closed. The doors were unlocked and back window was down an inch and a half. I couldn't put the window up but was able to lock the doors with the electric lock. Yes a light rain was falling! I will talk to the dealer in the morning if you know what I mean. Took away some of the excitement for sure. 2 other Jouneys were there (All Sold) and locked up solid.

    Come on Friday!

    Keith

you son of a ***** :hysterical: you got yours first, well the call anyways ;) . Hope you sleep good tonight, I know I wouldn't be able to. Too bad about the window :rant2: Hey was it in back of the dealership, or out front as if it just got unloaded parked with others unoaded? Hope you got a picture of it. I carry my camera everyday now just waiting for ours. Like I mentioned before, I drive past the dealership to and from work everyday.

Keep us up to date Keith, congratualtions buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Rob

  18. you know Seth, sorry to be harsh but the Journey can sit in a "waiting to be built" stage for weeks I've heard of guys waiting up to 6 weeks. Now I do not think this is going to happen to yours. I have read somewhere, might even be here, that the Customer orderes get bumped ahead of the stock orders

I know how you feel about waiting. There is nothing, from what I understand, that you can do. When I got my VIN, it was I think 3 weeks before I got an estimated shipping date. From there it was about 4 days and I had a Firm or Fixed (can't remember) shipping date which was April 23rd. From there it is just wait. The Salesmanager said it can take up to 3 weeks to get the car from Mexico to the nearest yard. Now from the nearest yard to get it trucked over then PDI'd then for you to inspect it and sign papers.

Hang in there, I know it is frustrating

    Rob

  19. I know in the manual, if you have selected a lower gear and the engines revs too much, it will go into the next gear automatically but still be in the autostick mode.

Yes the auto stick will be great for towing as well but I wouldn't be towing too much with it. If you are towing, buy a tow vehicle rather than prematre wear on the tranny.

Also slowing down with a trailer, the auto stick can save the brakes on the Journey, less heat warped rotors etc. Even desending down a long hill, rather than keeping your foot on the brake to keep the car at a slower speed (which shouldn't be done anyhow but it does) chose a lower gear and let the engine brake work keeping the car at a safer speed and keeping your brakes from heat and warped rotors

Well my take on it anyhoo!!! :hysterical:

    Rob
