  1. This is a fantastic Question as I got mine fairly recently and am from Canada as well. I have not heard about this until now anyone esle here of this in Canada.

    Rob?

Well Jay I would say that because the Dodge .ca website does not have any incentives for the Journey for us here in Canada (the Thank You Canada promotion), I would say that this dealer is advertising this on their own as a sales gimick to get customers to their dealership. This dealer is about 20 minutes from Detroit and I would also say that it would be hard to compete with "Motor City" that is soooooo close to them.

Just my take on it anyways.

    Thank you Jay

  2. found it...I'm on D still...how often does this stuff change? Any ideas on how long it takes from D to picking it up?

    :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

from D to pick up at dealer. most everyone here is like 6-8 weeks from order to pick up but there are exceptions some are 3 weeks and then there is mine :hysterical: I was in "D" status April 7th

  3. New Sandstone Journey just received yesterday from order. We are trying to get through all the programming of gadgets, which seems like a daunting task in itself, and we came across this little item. It appears to be a camera or sensor of some sort located directly between the 2 front courtesy lights in the overhead console. We can't find any mention of it in the manual. We have a RET radio with U-Connect. I've attached a photo (I know the quality is bad, but you can see what I'm talking about).

    What is this?

    TIA,

    Mike

hey Mike, I can't tell for sure but I think maybe a manual close for the sunroof. All power sunroofs/moonroofs have a manual close just incase of power lose. Can you see if the disc is removable or pop it off? It may take a small ratchet with a 10mm socket. I will be watching this one for the repliesw that come in just to see the correct answer

    Rob

  4. LBD-CT, congratulations on the new Journey. Very nice of the salesperson to accommodate like that, that is for sure. Great pictures too, thank you for sharing them.

I am happy for you guys :happy feet: now get out there and get some miles on that thing and give us a report

  5. It strikes me funny how the warranty can be different from one country to another. Are the Canadians being suckered by not getting the same warranty or do the Americans obtain a better vehicle when they purchase a Journey?

I contacted Chrysler about this issue and they said in a nut shell,..."because most Canadians turn over their cars more often than the United States, the Lifetime warranty is useless for us",... if it smells like BS, it probably is BS.

I hate the way we get painted as "Most Canadians" I plan on driving this car til it drops like all my other cars other than my 2001 F150, my next newest car is my 1991 Caravan (Rosie) that I will not part from. Sure would be nice to have a 15 year old Journey underwarranty!!!!!!!!!!

    Rob

  6. Yeah, after I posted the question, I took a close look at some of the pictures, and reached the same conclusion. There does not look to be any place to install the cover in the 3-row car. Oh well, ya win some, ya lose some. I may try to figure a creative way to make it work, but most likely I'll live with it. The glass is tinted quite dark, and the rear windows are somewhat small, so it may not make that much difference anyway.

I went back a bit through some threads I missed and seen this one. It was funny cause I was thinking the exact same thing. If you ever venture into this project, let me know and Vis-Versa.

If anyone wants to get rid of/sell there cargo cover, I know 2 guys looking for one.

    Rob

  7. The Cargo Compartment Cover is part of Convenience Group I, but it is deleted with the Flexible Seating Group (third row). I too would like to know if this can be purchased separately, as I plan to keep the rear seats folded down most of the time, and only flip them up when needed. I know that I will have to remove the cover to allow rear seat access in that case, but still would like to cover up the cargo area when the seats are not in use.

Nicetrip, I think the rear quarter trim panels are different and will not accept the Cargo Cover. I was thinking the same thing as you. but after looking at the way the clips are molded in, It will not work without doing some modification to the rear trim panels. I too would LOVE to have the cover with my Flex seating

I wonder if you can order the rear trim panels and install them? I don't know about seat belt anchoring for the 3rd row and where they are, now what I mean?

  8. So if the REU is the remote mount on the dash what is the lower radio model on the dash above the shifter? A RER/REN style?

hey Paul the REU is the radio model it has a remote screen for the Nav and the screen is also the same (sorta) as the other MyGig systems but it is NOT a touch screen. Also while in Park, the screen can be used for watching movies

    gallery_30_2_146160.jpg

The only problem I have is the little joystick (its the black button in the center silver knob) to navigate through all the different screens. You can use the Voice command ( I hear it is a slow process though) I was tossed between the screen down low (RER I think) with the touch screen (would be alkward to see/watch) or get the Nav with the screen ontop of the stack. One big plus was the Radio was able to play DVD and CD or combination of both in the 6 slot radio. I opted for the REU which is the Nav system. I am not worried about Ipod integration as I can play it through the AUX port and use the Ipod controls

Hope the picture helps you out Paul

    Rob

  9. so basically this is the "State of The Art" AWD system that is backed by many years from a proven company that when a problem arises, it is going to be pricey to fix :hysterical:

Great read, and thank you very much for posting this info.

    this is the best part,...

By working closely with Chrysler engineers to ensure premium vehicle functionality, BorgWarner system integrators perfectly blend AWD hardware and controls to aid in creating an efficient, yet robust driveline," said Tim Manganello, BorgWarner Chairman and CEO

  10. also that Sat image may be a few years old. I looked at my house and it shows my Mother-In-Laws car. She has passed and the car has been sold 2 years ago.

The one parking lot can hold 5000 cars that is mentioned

also pan out and you will see other huge parking lots/storage area

    Rob

  11. 16 days to get to you seems so long, I always thought trains were fast but after your long waite 16 days will fly bye. It also looks like it took 19 days to build counting weekends.

Rob how long did it take from D status to D1. Thanks Brenda

Brenda, Our Journey was in D status forever. Ordered March 14th, April 7th it went to D (VIN was issued) and May 15th it went to D1 but took another 3 weeks after that to build

ya 16 sleeps is nothing now, hopefully it won't come damaged like Roxanne's did

    Rob

  12. well stopped by the dealer after work and the Salesmanager says "Hey Rob" accross the floor :hysterical:

so as you can see, it is coming soon So maybe have it for Canada Day long weekend

Funny the salesmanager was just excited as I was :hysterical:

  13. you know what? Ever picture I have with the heated front seats, shows the ATC (All R/T's) but I do have one picture showing the SXT with heated front seats and ATC

I hope you are right as I wanted the ATC but did not want leather. It was a toss up, R/T with leather to get the ATC or the SXT without leather and no ATC. Hope everyone follws that :hysterical:

turning out to be a great week so far. Car being built and now this woooohooooo again. Thanks Nicetrip :mail:

    Rob

  14. you need to calm down it's only been 3 weeks

    :hysterical:

Sorry I could not resist this one. I do know what you are going through,...... TRUST ME!!!!! It is sooooo frustrating being treated this way. I hate going to the dealer only to wait and wait and wait some more for an answer of " still the same" with no compassion. I do not need my hand held while I am at the dealer, but at least show some concern. Hang in there The Journey is getting very polpular with all the word getting out and more are ordering. Just look at the member count last was 158 tonight and climbing day by day. I look at the bottom of the screen and it is nothing to see 1-2 members on now up to 5-6 and about 1--15 visitors/guests.

I just wish for you for the Journey to be here already

    Rob

  15. Sure Nicetrip, here is the ATC in an R/T

    med_gallery_30_2_30242.jpg

this one is full automatic temp. control

    now the SXT

    med_gallery_30_2_53090.jpg

this is the dash I think we are getting ( SXT AWD Entertainment Group II Flex seating,...etc)

    med_gallery_30_2_146160.jpg

this one is Automatic Air Cond.

Still manual control for heat with 3 zone heating

Rick, which one did you get. I was hoping our SXT comes with the 1st picture. Heck, you may have a RARE SXT Journey or maybe they switched up the ATC for the SXT AWD. Or another senario, they ran out of the Regular controls and went with th R/T. I wonder now if you can just switch out the controls for full ATC. Yup here we go again brain working overtime :hysterical:

  16. The best thing you can do for winter, regardless of the drivetrain type is to put GOOD winter tires on.

I agree and weather it is FWD or AWD the tires have to be done is sets of 4. Reason,

FWD's should/must have winter tires on the back as well as the front, the rear of the car has a great chance of slidding around when the fronts have more traction. I may add that alot of reputable tire shops now, will only put 4 winter tires on, on a FWD vehicle.

AWD, as all tires need to be the same outside diameter to prevent premature drivetrain wear and the above reason as well.

    Rob

I also live in a snow belt area, Canada, and I did order the AWD because I know the traction on 4 wheels is better than 2 <- not to start anything just my 2 penny's worth

  18. The REU will not play the Ipod through the USB port

MP3 player devices cannot be controlled through the

USB connector. Some player devices save music files in

MP4 format, which cannot be played in this radio. Some

copy protected music (e.g., downloads from the internet)

cannot be played on this radio.

you have to use the AUX port which will play through the REU nav system radio. You can not control the Ipod or mp3 player through the radio, the ipod or mp3 player has to be used with it's own controls

    AUX Mode

The AUX connector allows you to connect the headset

output of an audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the

navigation radio. The audio of the connected device will

then be played through the navigation radio sound

    system.

The display will switch automatically to the AUX mode,

when a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack cable has been connected.

The radio screen will revert back to the last tuner mode

    when the cable is unplugged.

To change to AUX mode while the cable is connected to

the unit, press the MEDIA button until the AUX tab is

highlighted on the top of the screen.

Adjust the volume with the ON/OFF VOLUME knob, or

with the volume of the attached device.

The control of the external device (e.g., selecting playlists,

    play, fast forward, etc.) cannot be provided by the radio;

    use the device controls instead.

it is in the NAV manual and it is available online.

Just wanted to be sure you were clear on the use of the REU Nav system for Ipod and MP3 use. Hope this helps you out.
