  1. well just got back from the grand opening at our dealership. This was a private party we were invited to. Found out some interesting details, LARGEST DEALER in Canada 80,000 sq feet under roof 10.5 acres of inventory open for 4 1/2 months just over 900 units sold Seen the #500 2009 CHALLENGER dressed as black on black with the 6.1 hemi (not for sale it is the press car), @#$% me what a car (hope I can say that here) open bar (Beer, Wine, red and white, Champayne) Catered, all the food you can eat Shimp to meatballs all great the full spread Live big brass band CEO of Chrysler Canada was there, Mayor, MLA's very nice party for sure, about 300 people for sure Thank you Sherwood Park Dodge!!!!! Met up with our salesman and he looked into our Journey. As of 4:43PM today, the car is in South Edmonton. Cloverbar Yard in North Edmonton so it is in the yard as I type this. It's just about in my driveway now. The salesguy was yanking my chain saying "no movement from Manitoba" but started to laugh, Cats outta the bag, nice try Now I am getting excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROB!!!!!!!!!!
  2. you know Nicetrip if you were closer, I'd give you a beer for the GREAT news. WOOHOO I will have my Full ATC,...giddy freakin up Rob
  3. um DUDE,...... YOU WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! SAWEET INSTALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob just finished wiring an amp in the truck, nice to be pounding again the wife loves it too Rob
  4. John, yours is miled out already Mine is still at the big "O" Rob
  5. hey thanks for the pictures Jay. I haven't decided on one yet ( maker/maunfacture) I wanted to get a hitch that is more "hidden" Have to see what the dealer says when we get ours cause he "said" it comes with one. I made a big deal about it that I didn't think it came with one. He said not to worry "it will have one" I said great cause I did not want to look for one when the car gets here. I want it on the car. It will either be free or just wait til other manufactures are making them Rob PS NICE JOURNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Right on Booker T are you getting any other options with it? Mud Flaps, ventshades, undercoated? You must be getting excited huih? Rob
  7. Welcome to the site Texann The sound you have could it be the power steering pump? Is it more noticable when turning? The growl you get is it the same sound as a powersteering pump? Keep us posted so we all can learn from the sound and the fix Rob
  8. Convex mirrors. On my work van, a 2007 Chev 3500 Savanna, I never shoulder check as I don't need to the mirrors do the work. If the rearview mirror (the one inside the car) is blocked, how can you see behind you unless you change the sideview mirrors? So the kids are watching a movie in back with the screen down, or you are carrying something in the back that blocks the view. An emergency vehicle is coming up behind you(not right behind you yet) and you CAN'T see it at all til you hear it behind you. Sorry to rant but I had it happen with the wife in the ambulance. Guy couldn't see behind him and we were stuck behind him. With the mirror inside set to look behind you, the sideview mirrors adjust so you just barely see the side of the car and a convex mirror on each sideview mirror, there are NO issues, even if you back into a tight spot. Rob (of the soapbox now )
  9. the only thing that comes to mind for now til there is something, 1) 3M has a 17mil thick clear paint protection film that sticks on. I put some on my F150 under the door locks and the locking tailgate handle. It works awesome. They usually use it on headlights and the front end of the car to help protect the paint. 2)(just an idea) the same company has various widths of non slip black sticky tape like the kind used on RV steps. It is available in different colors and widths. I am sure in the near future as these Journeys become mopre mainstream, aftermarket companies will have lots available for them and a rear bumper pad, I am sure, will be here along with headlight covers Rob
  10. Black R/T with the 19Clads,... NICE that is the color I like but the wife wanted the Lightsandstone. She's happy, then I am too "hang in there" I hear ya Stewie it's JUUUUUUUUST about here . The salesman has invited us to an exclusive party at the dealership. Black tie affair, free champagne, Wine, Hor'dourves "the whole ball of wax". I have the F150 spit polished for this, even a wax job on it. Polished the aluminum wheels and the stainless Lightning sidepipes. My salesman is a Harley rider and My F150 is done up in the Harley theme. He's been dying to see it, hopefully worth a few hundred off the price of the Journey Rob
  11. Today I dropped by for an update at the dealership and thay have 3 Black ones and 2 Silver Steel ones and 1 Lightsandstone in the showroom (not ours ) Rob
  12. Yes Stewie, that was I who mentioned that. I told the dealer mine was built before he called me As for tracking after that, it's up to the dealer to let you status/whereabouts. See my Signiture, it grows everyday. It is there to show others as much time info as possable. I stll say Nicetrip, you sure are getting yours fast, WOW!!!!! Rob
  13. YA , and have the meet out west say Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. I'll BBQ for everyone again, spelling blamed on the amount of beer consumed Rob
  14. @#$% Today I saw one where we live and I was hoping I was going to be the first,.... ah well he never had the Nav :slapfight: and his was "fleet white" no offence to other fleet white Journey owners just the ones in my area Rob
  15. Stewie, if it shifts in and out of 5th and then 6th and back to 5th, use the autostick and keep it in 5th. It may use less gas than switching back and forth. In 5th the revs are a little higher and the engine does not work as hard but when it shifts to 6th you lug the engine (work it harder to keep the speed up) and use more fuel(too high of a gear) when it shifts back to 5th the engine picks up the revs and has more power to keep up to speed (less work as the engine does not labor to keep speed). In laymamns terms, picture yourself on an old 10 speed bike and remember pedalling up a hill in 6th gear, yup, pretty tough and tiring. Now shift it down to 5th and it gets easier and not so hard on the legs (or heart/engine ) engines and tranny's work the same way. The above is not to be-little anyone it just an analogy of what happens. If I were you, and I had to drive at 90KM/H and the tranny was hunting back and forth, use the autostick and leave it in 5th. You could also reset the fuel mieage computer and just see what you get for MPG with this senario and then do the same with the tranny shifting back and forth, I think you may be surprised actually spelling is blamed on the amount of beer consumed Rob
  16. hey Skittles, can you confirm that you have the Automatic temperture control? You say you ordered the Premium Convenience Group and another member (I think Nicetrip) says it does come with it. Please tell me you have it, It's all electronic and the fan it controlled by thermostat. glad you are jealous, so am I Rob oh and welcome to the forum, great people here, no one better than the other, that's the way it should be
  17. Hey Seth, thanks for feeling for me/us. Last I checked (Friday 20), the Journey was in Ontario, someplace but hell if I can remember the name of the town . It is scheduled for pickup on Friday (if it arrives but will pick it up on The Saturday as I want to be SURE there is nothing up with it, squeaks/ hard left turns/ high pitch noise from the Air Cond/ you know, all the complaints everyone else has. I already told the salesman it will be driven before we fork over the cash. The salesman and the salesmanager are great. Even got a complement from the salesman that I was most patient customer he has ever seen and thanked me for that. The 3rd row was an issue, as well as the Nav at first, from what I heard, but mine has no leather (hate leather and that's why we ordered a full load SXT AWD) My philosophy is "good things come to those who wait" and dang it, I've waited. Rob the longest waiting YAH!!!!!!! at least I am longest at something tehe Rob
  18. nope, you explained PERFECTLY!!!!! even for me. I'll be ordering some just like Nicetrip did This truely is a GREAT MOD!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks Rob EDIT... Ordered 4 of the WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb and 4 of 4211-x6 LED Festoon bulb I ordered 2 extras for each,...juuuuuuust incase. paid for the fast delivery as the car will be here next week, HOPEFULLY
  19. how do they work with the lets say, "slow to off" of the original lights? The original lights slowly fade away til they are off but with the LEDS do they just go straight off? I am thinking cause the voltage is slowly dropped off with the regular lights and now using the LEDS does the color change as the turn off? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this mod and want to order the lights too But just wanted your opnion of the swap and what happens to yours as they turn off. Also on the site it shows the High Power LED Festoon Bulbs and the angle is wider but the shafts are just a Hair smaller, 8.8 on the regular Festoons and 8.65 on the high power festoons. I was at the dealer today and was looking at the headlights and just hate the orange glow of the signal lights. I am wanting to get the siler bulb oraange glow bulbs so when placed in the light housing, you see no orange bulb at all until the signal is used. Thanks for showing the pictures and part #'s you used,..... SAWEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!! gets my vote for best mod yet Rob
  20. WOW!!!!!!!!! that was quick!!!!!!!! Rob

  24. Jay, do you know if the wheels are clear coated or not? I will bet they are clear coated. If you yourself don't know, do a test, Take a small sheet of paper towel and rub a very clean wheel and see if the paper towel turns black. If the towels shows black, the wheels are bare aluminum. If they are bare aluminum, washing them more often with just mild soapy water and a rinse. Do not use any chemical on the wheel whatsoever. I do prefer bare aluminum wheels myself. If there is a problem with the finish (stain) you can usually rub it out with a 000 steel wool pad with water (the water is to lubricate the wheel while cleaning) then with an aluminum polish. One word on polishing aluinim though is once one wheel is polished, you will have to do the others as one wheel that was polished will be shinier (more mirror finish) and the others will have a brushed look. If the wheels are clear coated, the same process is the same, mild soapy water and a rinse but not so often as the clear coat will help protect the wheels finish. One thing I hate about the clear coat is once you have a nick in the wheel that breaks the clear coat (like a wheel weight) the water gets trapped under the clear coat and starts to corrode the wheel. Because it is under the clear coat, there is no way to get rid of the corrosion that has started. The corrosion is like a white powder and turns black later on. You can have the clear coat removed chemically or by re-machining the face of the wheel. (now you know why I like the wheels uncoated). Basically there are pros and cons of each style wheel but the main thing is, is to look after them. Also INSIST on the wheels being "Static balanced" this is where the tireshop installs the weights to the inside edge and behind one of the spokes. It's not a true Dynamic balance (wheel weight on the inside and outside outter lips) but it is the best alternative than cracking the clear coat. If the tireshops says they have weight that are clearcoat safe,....be sure they are Tape weights, NOT CLIP ON WEIGHTS. These clip on weights have a grey coating on them but when the weight is hammered onto the outside lip, the clearcoat is cracked so is the coated clip. on a side note about wheel balancing,....(not on the car, so not road force balanced) I took a real fancy Corvette convertable (C6 back then I think) and even went as far as spinning the wheels, marked the heavy spot of the rim ( rim turned 4 times to ensure heavy spot of rim, then mounted the ZR 19 tires (this is back a few years) and found the heavy spot of the tire again spun 4 times. Then matched the heavyspot of the rim and light spot of the tire together and Balanced the wheel. Wheel/tire assemblies were darn near perfect without any weights. Customer came back gave me a $100 tip and a case of beer. After that, I was the only person (tireguy) to touch his wheels. He even went as far to write head office. He was a guy about 50ish and showed me a picture of his girlfriend in California, achi-wa-wa ok kinda carried away there. just keep them clean no chemicals or abrasive products and you will bo ok. Those two kinds of products are years down the road yet Rob
  25. thank you for the heads up and after some digging,... Customer Bulletin: Update 4 - Line Outage - Watertown Subdivision, Wisconsin High water levels and adverse weather continue to impact segments of Canadian Pacific's rail line between Portage, WI and Milwaukee, WI, along our Minneapolis to Chicago corridor. CP train operations in this area remain suspended. CP is staging some trains and rerouting other trains around the affected area, where possible. CP personnel will be inspecting the rail line in the affected areas after flood waters recede. This may not occur for several days. Given the current rate at which flood waters are rising and the unpredictable weather patterns in the region, full operational recovery cannot be predicted at this time. Additionally, the flooding is now impacting many other transportation alternatives in the region and as a consequence CP is taking the following actions: 1. Canadian Pacific is declaring that an event of Force Majeure has occurred. This declaration was effective 00:30am, June 10th, 2008. If you have any questions about your specific commercial agreement, please contact your Account Manager. 2. We are issuing embargoes on selected traffic, from, to and through the affected area to help manage fluidity. These will be posted separately on our website. A permitting process to provide some limited relief will be made available as soon as possible. It is our intention to keep you posted regularly on the flood situation, the rail operation and the status of any embargoes. we will see in a week what the update is I guess, yes "what a Journey to get our Journey" Rob
