  1. I agree on the Voice buttons, and I've also found that U-Connect is getting more difficult to recognize my programmed speed dials, must be time to re-enter them? On the shifting, I have the other problem, mine un-locks the torque converter way to fast and way too often, I wish it would leave it locked up more and help keep the RPM's down and MPG's better?
  2. Dealer told me no updates available at this time.
  3. Aren't those "Chrome wheels" great, that plastic cover we got is a real pain to clean. Looking for a solution as well.
  4. http://www.detnews.com/article/20090501/AU...ng+but+ordinary Chrysler's plan to emerge includes new management, a new board, an Italian partner, a revamped product lineup, less plant capacity, fewer workers and dealers and, potentially, a NEW NAME. Perhaps the New Name is Government Motors Deux, or GM-2? The new company will be run by a nine-person board with six independent members appointed by the government and three appointed by Fiat, including an employee. Government Run! The governments of the U.S. and Canada comprise a collective 10 percent stake and an independent health fund trust to be run by the United Auto Workers will hold a 55 percent stake but without equivalent voting rights. So even though the UAW owns 55 percent their voting rights are owned by the Government? All this almost wants me to re-name the company so as to not pollute the history of the name.
  5. Yep, word is the "system" Operating and base files rake up the rest. Anay they thought the MS Windows code was bloated.
  6. Word is it's the story is a way to pressure the company. What ever happened to free enterprise, and our free country? I am a Christian and believe in the one true God. I believe marriage is between a Man and a Woman. I believe in life, and oppose abortion. I support the 2nd Amendment. I believe in border security and legal immigration. I support the Men and Women who defend the people of this nation. I am a Conservative who believes in the Republic, not socialism. Am I a threat to Homeland Security, or Am I Homeland Security? I AM Homeland Security
  7. Details are hard to find, but supposedly the engine is downgraded in some fashion for the Avenger/Journey. Charger: Allpar Site on The 2.7, 3.2, 3.5, and 3.8 Liter V6 Mopar (Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge) Engines Journey: Allpar Site on Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth 3.3, 3.5, 3.8 Liter V-6 Engines Not sure why there are two different specification pages at Allpar on the engine.
  8. I made the dealer find me a Journey with the Trailer Tow Package, as the Cooler and "trailer stability" programming isn't standard. the factory wiring harness is OK, I like the aftermarket better as they don't use the noise relays like Dodge did.
  9. I installed the Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch from etrailer and yes it does stick out a bit. etrailer has been great to deal with and I've bought quite a bit from them.
  10. Are you sure that's true for all Journeys? The US units have TC's.
  11. Pulled a Polaris Ranger this weekend, and on flat ground, the darn thing wanted to not leave the TC locked up in 6th (D) at 60 MPH. Had to down shift to 5th and leave it there to keep the TC locked up. I sure hope they get/have a software update for the shifting, to keep the TC locked in longer/better.
  12. I don't have a problem with the engine, other than I expected better MPG's. The Tranny can't take much of a load with out un-locking and/or down shifting.
  13. I have three complaints: MPG (old motor not the new one) The touchy down shifting/de-locking torque converter The Hard Arm Rest on the doors. Other than that I'm happy. sure there are things I'd chnage, say less plastic, true TPM not just an ideiat light, and the overhead console for sun roofs, but the above three are the biggest issues. I can't understand using the old crappy motor in a new car that was to lead them into the crossover market.
  14. 12,000 miles, mostly at 60 MPH and an Average of 21 MPG (Hand Calculated). Look slike the spring weather is improving it, yea! Best was 25, worst was 16
  15. Saturday Night I changed Satellite station, but no sound, and the radio worked all other function, not no Satelite. Turned off the Journey, and back on and all is well. Previously I had an incedent where the radio lost all the pre-set stations.
  16. I picked up a transponder key (on e-bay) that I will program and have cut to open the doors on mine. This key was inexpensive, and as long as you have two good transponde keys you can program it with out the dealers help. HATA Part Number HAT-3740
  17. If that's the case, I'm real glad my Journey came from MI rather than hear in IL.
  18. Dealer could not find the TSB or the noise when I had mine in, so now I'm taking it back again.
  19. The Journey doesn't come with the hitch/receiver with the Tow Package. I bought it from etrailer.com, and the Dodge wiring harness is a 4-pin connector with no place to mount.
  20. FWD R/T with Tow Package. I've towed by Polaris RZR on a <500 pound Trailer with no issue. MPG was 16.2 at 60 MPH (I'm getting 22.7 otherwise). the only problem I see is the vehicle's desire to kick out the torque converter lock up under the slightest load/acceleration. Journey and RZR in tow
  21. I found this: The catalog listed the 578 as a 9 candle power bulb. Multiply candle power by 12.57 to convert to lumens. (http://www.brightguy.com/brighttopics.php) 9 x 12.57 = 113.13 lumens So the 4210-WWHP6 puts out about half of the 578? I suspect it's as illuminating because no light loose in having to reflect it around in the fixture?
  22. I noticed that the 4211-WW6 draws 18mA and puts out 8 lumens, while the 4210-WWHP6 draws 163mA (9 times more) and puts out 60 lumens (7.5 times more). There isn't a 4210-WWHP3, but if there was it would still likely be almost 4 times the light. Does anyone know the draw and lumens of the stock bulbs? http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/festoon.htm http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/festoonhp.htm
  23. NiceTrip, good observations and clarifications. I hope Dodge releases a fix (computer update) for this, or we might have to rely upon the aftermarket chip guys to give us a fix.
  24. Is anyone else experiencing the over sensitive cruise control causing the higher RPM's to maintain speed with out down shifting? It sure seems the Tranny is either too high of a 6th gear, or the cruise is too tight in holding the speed. I'd bet the MPG would be better if the speed variability while the cruise is engaged would be opened up.
  25. Same problem on my R/T FWD. When not towing and traveling 60 MPH a small incline will cause it to rev the engine up from 1,500 RPM to about 2,500 RPM. Same thing when towing but even the slightest change in road incline causes the same RPM change. If when it rev's up I kick the AutoStick in, the dash states it's in 6th, and if I slap it down to 5th, the RPM's go higher before settling down a little lower. So I don't think it's down shifting, just un-locking the torque converter. It seems to me that the torque converter clutch is disengaging allowing the engine to rev up rather than down shifting. So I would expect this kind of pattern to actually "burn" up the tranny, so I'm a little concerned (yes it has a life time power train warranty). It's less of an issue with out the cruse engaged, but I drive two straight central IL roads so not using the cruse is asking for trouble.
