  1. I went to TireRack.com and got these- Power Alloy Cryo-Treated Rotors Front brakes went at 17000 miles. Mopar, Napa, and other aftermarket all warped by 3,000 miles of use. Well past 6,000 miles on the Power rotors and still O,K. Another stragety, went with metalic pads in front, it's cheaper to replace pads than doing both each time. I've gotten over 60,000 miles on some of my other cars before needing brakes. The Journey, at 49,0000 miles is on it's 4th set. Did the rears with Napa super premium rotors and ceramic pads, they have been fine since the change at 17,000 miles.

  3. Had to redo my front brakes (warped rotors). Noticed excessive side to side movement of left front tire with car on the lift. Took car into dealership. Replaced rack and pinion unit at 20,000 miles. Go to pick car up, check engine light was on and now there is a loud ticking coming from engine. Needless to say I was furious. And they wonder why people buy imports...
  4. 17,500 miles, front pads are shot and rotors need to be turned. Rears are about 80% gone. Replacing all with ceramic pads. That should reduce the break dust issue and last a LOT longer.
  5. We had our REU unit replaced a little over a month ago. It seems to have solved the problems. The only thing is they replaced it with a rebuilt unit. Today my wife starts the car and the radio goes into a update mode for a few minutes. It then tells us our Sirrius suscription has expired, bought car in August of 08. Wife calls up Sirrius and they tell her that our radio ( the rebuilt in our car) has been in service for over a year and that the subscription has expired. Had to fight with Sirrius to get them to turn satellite radio back on. So if you have your head unit replaced, look out for more fun and games down the road.
  6. Well it's been about 2 weeks now and the noise is gone. Thanks again
  7. Thanks mjm48 for the help. Took ours in today and told them about the star number. My wife is picking the car up now, I'll let you know if it helped.
  8. Took ours in today, REU model. They are ordering us a new radio. I'll keep everyone updated after they install it.
  9. I was looking around and there is a TSB just issued for our radio's, a software update. Hopefully this would solve our problems. http://www.allworldauto.com/tsbs/NHTSA__DO...tin_267973.html
  10. I've had the no audio problem two or three times now. Also a few times where I couldn't input anything to the nav unit. Seems to be a common problem with the MyGig unit. Here's a good site that talks all about MyGig, we have the REU version. http://mofv.com/mygig/ Let me know if the new radio solves the problem.
  11. No idea, maybe someone can try it and tell us. Found two other things. 1. Turn the key to on first, then hold the trip reset button in (took a few seconds). Display will show total hours that the engine has been running. 2. Models with EVIC buttons in the stearing wheel. Hold the 'N' button in on the right side of the wheel along with the down arrow on the left side of the wheel. Ignition can be either on or engine running. You can scroll through a bunch of stuff. Still trying to figure it all out.
  12. Seen this on other dodge forums, works with our Journey's also. 1. Begin the test with the ignition switch in the Off position. 2. Depress the odometer/trip odometer switch button. 3. While still holding the odometer/trip odometer switch button depressed, turn the ignition switch to the On position, but do not start the engine. 4. Release the odometer/trip odometer switch button. 5. The instrument cluster will simultaneously begin to illuminate all of the operational segments in both VFD units, and perform a bulb check of each operational LED indicator. The VFD segments and LED indicators remain illuminated as each gauge needle is swept to several calibration points and back. If a VFD segment or an LED indicator fails to illuminate, or if a gauge needle fails to sweep through the calibration points and back during this test, the instrument cluster must be replaced. 6. The actuator test is now completed. The instrument cluster will automatically exit the self-diagnostic mode and return to normal operation at the completion of the test. The actuator test will be aborted if the ignition switch is turned to the Off position, or if a vehicle speed message indicating that the vehicle is moving is received from the PCM over the CAN data bus during the test. 7. Go back to Step 1 to repeat the test, if necessary. Also looks like it tells me which firmware is loaded.
  13. I agree, the dust on my plastic chrome wheels is pretty bad. R/T with the 19 inch wheels.
  14. It's in section 2 :THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR CAR Remote Keyless Entry (RKE).............20 Express Down Window Feature...........25 This feature allows you to remotely lower both front door windows at the same time. To use this feature, press and release the unlock botton on the transmitter and then immediately press and hold the unlock button until the windows lower to the level desired......... I was looking for a date when my owners manual was printed, all I could find was third edition. I've noticed when some one else references a page number it may or not match the page number in my book.
  15. We have a R/T with Convenience Group II, Family Value Group, MyGIG® Multimedia System w/GPS Navigation and the Flexible Seating Group. I have no idea which model or package includes this. I didn't even know it was an option till my wife found out. I had to go back to the manual where it talks about the operation of the remote to find it.
