  1. Yeah for sure. Not important that I have anything back there. Just curious. Middle and rear seats are out. Wide open space back there for work. I have a bungee net about where the middle seat backs would be to keep my freight from avalanching. This is far and away the best delivery vehicle I have owned. Not the biggest. But I do a medical route, so it's a perfect size. I did keep the back storage box back there. I could have removed it for even more room, but I love the storage for tools and what-not.
  2. Yep. Since I unplugged the rear, the climate control works swimmingly. Question though, if I put the rear fan fuse back in, do I still have full rear AC and heat control from the front controls?
  3. That's what I was afraid of. This is the best actual delivery vehicle I've had in my 37 year career, but the very worst AM radio. That's about 15 vehicles.
  4. I have the 8.4 inch Uconnect display. I listen to talk radio on AM radio on my delivery job. My route goes 30+ miles to the outskirts of town. AM radio on my Journey is just terrible. Can a guy change out the just the radio? Of course the display involves everything plus the kitchen sink not just the radio. What are my options?
  5. So pulling the fuse for the rear may only involve the rear blower as was mentioned above by 5rebel9. So I wonder if a guy could just remove (or unplug) the back panel and call it a day?
  6. I started the day with the control off. 2 to 3 hours later, it came on. Same settings when it was on last. Sync stayed synced. Fuse for rear still out. Then several times, it happened again. Then I just left it on as I needed the AC anyway. This is a mystery. The original unit did that, but had other mysterious issues. I can elaborate what those were if anyone is curious. But what is causing this unit to come on by itself? It is possible that this unit is also bad, since I did buy it used. Has anyone else had this happen? I do have the bigger touch screen and auto heat/ac, which I leave off as mentioned above because I can't stand auto.
  7. I drive 8 hours a day and I keep forgetting to shut off the climate control to see if it comes back on. I'll try to remember tomorrow. Other than that, it seems to be working fine.
  8. If you read my original post in this thread, there is no mistaking that I am talking about the main control unit. It was Dean above who mentioned pulling the fuse for the rear in the possible case that a defective rear control was causing issues in the main unit. I do have auto, but hate auto, so I never have auto enabled. Ever.
  9. This new/used unit has come back on mysteriously a few times this week after I turn it off. Sync remains synced however. Still monitoring to see if it happens again. Rear fuse is still out. I never put it back in.
  10. It was not the rear control. It was the main control panel in the front instrument panel.
  11. The new/used one that I got on Ebay works great. Two days of driving on my route and it's good.
  12. Whatever is the situation, it is not the rear causing it. With rear fuse out, my unit is still acting up. I drive 8 hours a day. With the unit off, it comes back on and seems to be getting worse. Also, the driver/passenger sync comes un-synced sometimes. I just tried shaking the on/off knob and it came cack on. Did that 3 or 4 times, so now, that pretty much confirms the bad unit. I found a used one on ebay and just bought it. Cheap. $59 no shipping. Prefer new, but Rock Auto is out of stock. I'll post later on if it's working after the used one is installed. Plus, I'll put that fuse back it. @Locosiete, why do you not have a back seat? I also removed mine! Both middle and 3rd row. I did leave the storage box though. All that extra room is quite awesome for my job.
  13. I went back there and looked for a switch. Couldn't find one. Unless you are referring to the knob in the rear that has auto - 0 - and then fan increments. Or was that temp increments? Can't remember as I am in the house now and I don't sit back there to remember. Anyway it was at the first increment. I changed it to zero or "0", which is a moot point since I have the fuse out for the rear now. Had I found the switch you were referring to I was going to put the fuse back in and try it. There is a switch on the front controls for rear. I have that off as usual, but it mysteriously turns back on and has a mind of it's own. I'll see how it works with the fuse out tomorrow.
