    tires

We replaced ours with 235/50/R19. There is no problem with rubbing on this slightly wider tire.
  2. Hi, I have seen a lot of posts asking about 7-pin connectors, but none seem to answer exactly what I am looking for. I installed an after market Draw Tite hitch and the wiring harness from etrailer.com for my 2009 SXT. I want to haul a pop up camper with a 7-pin connector. The wiring harness only has the 4-pin connector. I have no problem connecting the 7-pin adapter to run the tail lights, and it works great. The trailer does not have electric brakes. However, I would like to be able to connect the battery charging wire, which charges the campers on-board battery while towing, and the auxillary power to run the 12v refrigerator while towing. Has anybody attempted this? I am sure most people leave the extra 2 wires from the adapter hanging. It would be great if I wouldn't have to run these wires up to the battery, but I am guessing I will have no choice. Also, I noticed that my fuse box contains a lot of fuses for stuff my Journey doesn't have, like power lift gate, heated seats and sunroof. Do these wires exist and just end someplace? It would be nice to just tap into those and be all set.
  3. That sounds like a pretty big difference in offset. It would make your wheels stick out almost an 1 1/4" more. This might look funny, and possibly cause handling issues. I was wondering if you found something that would work. I have a set of 17" wheels with a 17x7.5 with a 51mm offset I was thinking about for winter tires, but am not sure if that is too much.
  4. The P225/55 R19's seem to be only made by Kuhmo, and only one model. Check the tire forums for plenty of threads regarding the use of winter tires. About the only thing you can do is to buy a second set of rims.
  5. That is interesting; I live in flat country so I haven't seen this yet. I wouldn't necessarily call this a problem, though. Downshifting while going down steep hills is better than riding your brakes. If you are talking mountain driving, it probably would be best not to use cruise control at all. Maybe the transmission is more sensitive to noticing when the momentum of the car is pushing faster than the engine, and therefore it should downshift. This is also the first 6-speed auto I have ever owned, so maybe they are a bit different as well. I don't know.
  6. There is another topic on this subject here in the forum. Uconnect is an added feature that may not be installed, even though you have the buttons for it. It appears that there is a module you can purchase to add this feature, Mopar #82211878. Can anyone confirm this module can be installed and activated by the owner? Or is there programming needed for the stereo that can only be done by a dealer?
  7. I notice this post is old, but I will respond in case anyone else wants this info. Just last week I purchased the Yakima roof rack system. My 2009 Journey has a bare roof, but Yakima does have equpment that will work for it. So far I only took 1 trip with a rooftop box, and it worked just fine. You may want to either invest in the faring, or if you don't think you will use them much, just take them off. The extra noise from the empty rack is noticeable.
