Thanks for the response guys! Did look into it further and turns out that I did need brake fluid and quite a bit. I have had my brakes checked several times and just got new tires which I had them look at the brakes while the tires were off and I've been told they are still good. Wouldn't they notice a leak if they were looking at them? I have 115,000kms on it. I'll keep monitoring the fluid to see if it does go down to signify a leak.

Brake light and Parking brake light flash on but are only on for 5 seconds. They came on every once in a while but now they flash on more often. i am stopped and foot is on the brake when they flash on. Now that it is colder it is flashing on more often and sometimes when i am not even touching the brake. I thought it just might be the sensor going and it thinks i am rolling (i am no professional) Any thoughts?
