  1. i have load tested the new battery before leaving the store...it was great it never occurred to me that the brand of alternator could be the issue...i also just look at the numbers to see how the components test...as i mentioned it did start out as a simple dead battery (over 5 yrs old battery) and I jumped it with a GMC Acadia...significantly higher amperage in that system...when the weather clears, I may just put everything back together and see what happens...maybe that other battery had a dead cell in it...
  2. 2012 Dodge Journey SXT FWD 3.6L engine 113568 miles 3 weeks ago my battery died when i stopped for some coffee on the way to work. My gf brought my Acadia down and i jumped it to get it home. I bought a new battery, installed it and thought I was good. The next morning I noted that my headlights were dimming while I was sitting at a red light and my blower fans (on high) were not maintaining a constant speed. I replaced the alternator...no big deal...now with a new alternator...i still have the dimming lights and irregular blower fan...my battery also died without it running for a few days...I just replaced the battery and the alternator tested good on a bench test. I haven't put everything back together yet.... If this were a heavy truck I'd go straight to the voltage regulator....but the journeys dont have one...the fuses and relays are good...is it possible the Acadia has a higher Amperage and burned up the PCM when I jumped it? everything currently checks out and I dont want to waste more time than i need to on this issue. Any ideas anyone? thanks for any help! ~geo good battery (new) alternator output 14.5 and 160A (bench test) maybe new plugs, and wires? no bad fuses and relays all check out...
