  1. Hi all, I got my the USB and great news it worked for me. Maps are updated and no more "Can't Unlock Maps" error. Cost me $164 shipped to my door the next day. This is with the current $50 savings which is applied at check out. Note savings is only applied until 30 Sept 19. Again all I had showing was the "Can't Unlock Maps" box and no access to the Navigation features. All other things worked normally IE radio etc..... Took around an hour to follow the instructions and install. I hope this helps anyone else with this issue where it out of warranty.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I'll order the map updates from Garmin and hopefully it works. I'll post once I get it.
  3. So Marty when you bought the maps from Garmin you just inserted the USB stick into the Aux, clicked update maps and voila the "Can't Unlock Maps" disappeared?
  4. Good question. So here is the link that my i looked up: https://chryslergroup.navigation.com/product/Catalog/Catalog_Dodge_Journey_2013/2019-FCA-Group-North-American-Map-for-Uconnect-8.4N-RB5-MY-13-18-/sku/U5544-0060-903NAM/en_US/ChryslerNA/CAD I had to input my 10# unit ID which takes to that link. Cost with shipping is $164.17 (Canadian). Note my software is up to date. Says version 7.09 So my bottom line is if I purchase this and follow the instructions will it update the maps and get rid of the "Can't Unlock Maps: and "No Detailed Maps Available" error?
  5. Hi All, So based on the last few comments it seems like you can buy a memory stick from Dodge or potentially even Garmin. Can anyone actually confirm they purchased it and it got rid of the "Can't Unlock Maps"? I would willingly pay $100-150 to fix the problem but need a guarantee.
  6. Hi all, I just got affected by this issue a few weeks ago. Its a 2013 Journey so unfortunately its out of warranty and Dodge wont even offer a discount regardless of the R65 recall or known issues. I've read all the pages on this post so correct me if I'm wrong: Option 1 - Have Dodge fix it which would cost well of $1000.00 which I doubt anyone would do or Option 2 - Buy a GPS and stick it on my windshield for $150. I'm assuming there is no way to update the maps from Garmin or any other aftermarket company? If so someone would have posted a link to the company and process.
