2010 R/T Hot weather coolant leak
William Burke replied to William Burke's topic in Engine & Transmission
Thanks everyone. It ended up being a leak in the heater hose assembly. Plastic Y fitting cracked. I could just have the fitting replaced, but everyone suggests just replace the whole assembly, giving the age of it. Had 2 mechanics diagnose it the same. Replace the Y, then soon a hose or hoses spring leaks and do it all over again. Part of the exhaust needs to be moved out of the way. Mostly a labor thing. A bit pricey just because of labor. At least it wasn't the heater core or the radiator. -

2010 R/T Hot weather coolant leak
William Burke replied to William Burke's topic in Engine & Transmission
I actually replaced the reservoir tank about a year and a half ago. Are they notorious for cracking? -
We have a 2010 Journey R/T. When the weather gets hot, we get coolant on our garage floor and I have to refill the reservoir about once a week. I looked and couldn't see the source of the leak definitively. A/C works fine. Cooling fan works, not sure if it works "enough". When should the cooling fan go on? In cool weather, never an issue. Any ideas out there? How should I troubleshoot this? Any ideas would be appreciated. Please no negative attitude responses. Thank you!

2010 R/T. Been through many issues with TIPM, dead battery, starting issues. All of those things have been replaced and happily everything works quite well now, except every so often when starting, the starter continues to crank without starting the car. If I let it go eventually the car will start. I just don't want to grind/drain the starter/battery again. When it does that, we turn it off and turn the key again and it starts right up. Is this something we just have to put up with? Or is there a solution? TIA! P.S. New key FOB's too.

2010 Dodge R/T under carriage shields

That's it! Thank you 2! I will order this! -
We were recently on a camping trip and hit a road hazard, this part came off and our oil filter was smashed. Is this a single under carriage shield or part of the whole engine shield? I would like to get it replaced, but not sure what part to order. Any expertise would be appreciated.

Tires are in very decent shape John/Horace. I will check DOT code thanks! P.S. We live in Oregon, but the car came from Alberta.

The two repaired bead rims so far are holding up very well!

Same thing. 2010 R/T. Works great mostly, then for no reason whatsoever, click - no start. In the shop now. Going to try replacing the cable from positive battery cable to starter. Am i barking up the wrong tree?? -

Sounds like wiring... Ours does this once in awhile, but as soon as we start the car the next time, it clears up. -

You can even set it up as a slideshow if you want... -
Thank you! It is a lot of fun!

You are so fine. Don't worry!

45 MPH up steeper hills about 3500 to 4000 RPM's. Weight Distribution Hitch is R3 Recurve.

We use our 2010 DJ R/T 3.5L engine to tow our small 14' travel trailer (2290 lbs.) We put most of our cargo in the car. We had U Haul install a hitch with brake controller. We added a weight distribution hitch and has been the key to safe handling. Just don't push it up steep grades! P.S. Our DJ came with a trans cooler, so I'm sure that helps too.

So when we turn on the radio or listen to CD's we see a picture of our choice, just like wallpaper on a PC. I put a picture from one of our vacations that we enjoy looking at. -
