Well that’s the first issue. It’s my wife’s car and she’s the only one who test drive it before buying it. She didn’t notice there wasn’t actually a backup camera until after the car was purchased and off the lot.
I can say with 100% certainty it does not have a backup camera. The dealership says it “should” have a camera, but they’re not responsible blah blah blah. The parts department said according to the VIN number, it has a camera equipped, so they can’t order a part for it, etc. Neither have been particularly helpful.
I get that at a majority of this is on us, but it’s not like we’re asking them to give us the camera and installation for free. We just need to know if it’s possible to even get a backup camera and what all that will entail.
