  1. they is the local dealership. they applied the r65 recall to our unit at the time when the unit was working. aka, they upgraded the firmware 2 years later, the can't unlock maps/corrupted maps occurred. but because the recall had been applied, they're washing their hands of replacing the defective unit
  2. we're getting owned by this right now. they applied the firmware fix unbeknownst to us, and now that nav has died, we have no recourse
  3. even better, apparently 2 years ago, the dealership did the firmware upgrade and wrote off the recall for us. being helpful so now we don't even have that recourse yay!
  4. Yeah over gone thru all that. I've pulled the fuse, no go. Its almost like it blipped after deleting the ctp17 but before finishing loading the ctp13 software I will try completely disconnecting the battery tonight at some point, but I suspect its completely hosed
  5. So, I'm getting the 31a0 error attempting to downgrade/install cpt13.... Pulling the fuse doesn't make a difference, and now nav seems completely gone. GPS doesn't work, even for setting the clock.... Compass no longer functions either
