  1. I wish one day I can say the same! Can you tell me if your car had the U49 recall done?
  2. I think the same as well. Let's see the result. Their support is good. I know other users with the Journey don't have any issues. I wish I could see that it was on my side, so I could have it fixed fast.
  3. Hello: Update: I've exchanged the module with a new one supplied under warranty. Same issue with screen changing often. Frustrated - to be nice - Car has been checked at Dodge as well and all cables connections from steering wheel appear to be perfect including on the Electronic Diagnostic. At the end any thing strange only happens with interface installed. Asked ENG Custom to send new cables as they sent only the actual module.

Some random photos taken over the years. Soon I'll install the Android Auto/Apple CarPlay interface. The SRT Performance pages and Sirius Travel Link were added using Alpha OBD and OBDLink MX+ hardware. Currently I removed the Sirius Travel Link as the info is always the USA and not Canadian.
  5. From the album: R/T in Toronto

    Connection to OEM/Factory Microphone

Interface with wifi antenna in place.
  7. Hello: I just had my Journey serviced. They told me that the pads are still ok, but the front rotors are almost done. Should replace them by the summer. It has 121,000KM currently so they should last close to 80,000 miles. Factory brakes still on 4 wheels.
  8. Hello Joseph! Yes. In any circumstances, when using the interface, I ALWAYS get the backup camera. Let me ask you, is that a Fiat Freemont? If so, manual transmission? On this side of the pond is only Automatic Transmissions. Regarding my issues.... I talked to the team at ENG-Custom. they agreed that my situation is very strange. They will send me a replacement! I'll keep updating this thread.
  9. That plug is in the back of the radio. My camera shoes always on screen. Make sure your settings are like the picture for the camera.
  10. They need a lot of improvements... manual is one. After a lot of chat with them, told the I gave up on trying to connect to the original microphone. On the spot they sent this picture.. I told them they should provide clear instructions. I'll connect to the factory mic one of these days. Regarding the issues I'm having.... only one that drives me insane.. I think my unit is defective.... keeps changing screen while driving. Goes back to Uconnect and back into interface, both in CarPlay and in Android Auto. Check this video link bellow. 11. I have no issues at all with sound. I do have one issue but I've been trying some software updates from them... Do you have Uconnect set to AUX? Send some pictures.
  12. Hello: The Backup Camera. Never had an issue with it... Just plugged the kit to the original cable that goes to the Uconnect system. It grabs the camera image from there. I never use the extra video inputs connectors. Although initially I suspected it could be my car (the cable connectors that run in the steering wheel around the airbag - clock spring or the steering buttons themselves), after talking to ENG-Custom Team we suspect is a software bug: Often, turning the steering the Android Auto or CarPlay would change screen (maps to menu, etc) or go back to Uconnect. Then you're always using the back button to change it. I tried removing SRT pages to test if it was the cause, but it wasn't that. They sent me a software update. It happens less often but it still does it. That update enables changing music tracks using the steering left audio controls, which is great. They still working on an update that should be ready soon they say. So far, and having those issues, I admit that they are very pleasant to deal with and never ignore the issues. I only find sad the fat they say that they don't know the PIN code for the advanced settings screen. It's not the same as the Alfa Romeo Interface from the same manufacture that you can find in other forums.
  13. @jro1986: Welcome aboard! I've driven A Freemont 2.0 MultiJet Manual 170cv. Funny it has the same torque (Nm) as the V6 but uses half the fuel. Going back to your questions: Mic cable was easy. remove the rubber from the door frame by the A pillar. Run the wire inside. After and around the Knee Airbag area I run it behind the airbag and OBD port and pushed it up behind the factory radio. The long press on the "Back" button on the steering wheel is what makes you switch between the U connect and interface. Some advice from my usage: The installation instructions could be better. The actual support from ENG-Custom is very good. Although they are very busy at the moment, there's good communication. I've had some issues, software bugs. Initially I thought it was my Dodge but no. ENG-Custom has been providing software updates, even video calls. Most of the bugs are solved except for two but should have an update in about a week according to them. Please keep us posted with your progress!
  14. I installed myself. ON a sunday, no rush... 2 hours was done with all testing and putting everything back. No scratches on plastics.
  15. It's still on sale: Dodge Journey CarPlay Android Auto Mirror Link
  16. They charged me They charged me $359.60USD with DHL shipping. Paid online to DHL $23.12 in customs. 3 days to Toronto. Went from Italy to Germany, to UK and Toronto
  17. No wiring striping at all specially if use the supplied microphone. I do have and use Sirius on the car. But note that we also have the Sirius XM app.... and Sirius sounds BETTER via the app.
  18. As far my experience goes, when using the interface there's no radio. I either use my phone's music on the microSD and native music player that shows up in Android Auto, or just use Amazon Music which is not heavy on data.
  19. I think is a late but good solution. Support is great form the Italian supplier. I don't find these latest units being sold elsewhere, including AliExpress. I assume that I, not the interface, did something wrong with the OEM Mic. I couldn't get it to work. That's why I installed the supplied one. Note that using the supplied mic you can still use the VR button on the left steering wheel control. Press it and triggers either the Apple Siri or Google assistant. It does also activates the Uconnect VR but i say the command, the interface/phone listens and processes. Then i just press VR again to cancel the Uconnect attempt. Things I don't like: The next/previous track don't work as it's connected via AUX1. I'm playing still with settings on phone, android auto and the interface as I don't like the interface connecting and showing up on screen as soon as i get into the car. I would prefer to idle and only starting when i press the back button which is the way to change systems.
  20. I had to remove the screen so I could pass cables and install. I installed it behind the screen. No modifications... Just plug , test to be safe and put back.
  21. Hey John: Factory console USB still works and plays. Pictures attached. If you don't have factory camera, this system has the RCA plug and the wiring. Additionally has in both cases extra video inputs for front camera and aftermarket parking sensors.
