I read about this on here before... investigate

got mine out tonight..
this is what I did!
removed the bezel GENTLY.. round bezel around the push start stop button!
then removed the 2 bezels around the heater switches and removed the 2 torx bits
then removed the lower controls panel.
then removed the 2 torx screws for the upper screen panel and removed the panel slightly and set it aside.
stuck my arm inside the dash and pushed OUTWARD (towards you) on the start/stop button and the button popped out!
Put the dash all back together... the new button pops right in and don't need to remove the dash to put it back in
-
how did you get it out... I was able to get the trim ring out but the button doesn't want to come out....

If you Journey wont start with the fob in your pocket..
try this
Take the fob and push the start button with it.. car should start! even without battery in FOB car should start!
USE THE FOB INSTEAD OF YOUR FINGER TO START THE CAR!!!!
Take the FOB and push the start button With the fob.. not your finger

you are also running a ADSTB module correct?
-
mine ended up being a bad passenger door PASSIVE sensor!
-
you need a ADSTB module for factory bypass!
-
car will go into BATTERY SAVE MODE, where even the radio wont work as its trying to save power!
Eventually car will die as it takes power to keep it running.. get the alt changed right away!
I did mine in about 30 mins, some good youtube vids on it

back in the day.. me and a buddy shoehorned a 460 into a Hyundai pony!
needless too say once the Police pulled us over and they called in the vehicle inspection unit.. the car was pulled off the street as it was considered unsafe!
don't see what the problem is... the motor was practically right in the car sitting beside us as we drove
