mkaresh
Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so it's possible to provide reliability information on new models quickly. I'd like to do this for the Journey, but this will depend on how quickly owners join up and participate. Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter. To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results for free. mkaresh
A few owners have signed up to participate. With a few more, I'll include the Journey in this month's survey. If the Journey is not included this month, a result in August becomes unlikely. We will have results for some other early 2009s in August. dscmmc5555
I signed up but I don't have the car quite yet. The order was placed on April 25th. They told me I should have it from 6-8 weeks. I will keep all posted on information when I get it. SEth
mkaresh
Thanks. Just enter -1 in the odometer readings on the survey until the month after you get it. (The main survey always covers the previous month.) The follow-up email goes out today, and this is the last time this month I'll include new members in the survey. 7 owners have signed up so far. If a few more could be included in this survey, that would make a full result in August more likely. Vehicle reliability research

mkaresh
Thanks, Keith. 13 owners have now signed up, a good start. If owners keep joining at this rate, we'll have a result in November. We'll probably need a total of 40+, but we're getting there. Vehicle reliability research
mkaresh
Follow-up to this month's email goes out tomorrow. If a few more owners signed up, there'd be better odds of a solid result in November, with a possible initial result in August. mkaresh
I signed up, but I'll have to wait until I get home tonight to verify the email address, and get my member #. Thanks, I appreciate it. We're unlikely to have enough responses for an initial result in August, but November is almost a certainty. Of course, I wouldn't mind a surprise here...
