bramfrank
The title pretty much says it all. I am looking for a VIN from a 2014 or 2015 Journey that is factory equipped with the RB5 (navigation) radio. Why am I looking for it? Because the radio in my Canadian Crossroad doesn't seem to have the SiriusXM TravelLink feature set, which is a software function. I have a subscription to TravelLink, which my radio confirms, but the lower right hand touch-button on my radio says 'settings', where I believe that on the US models it has a '+' sign and says 'more'. And in the settings, there are only two items under the Sirius configuration, neither of which pertains to TravelLink - and that is where the manual says it gets set up. This implies that there is different firmware in the Canadian radio from that which is in the US one and the only way to know for certain is to go to the update site and see if a US update is different from a Canadian one - and for that I need a US VIN. So, if you drive a 2014/2015 Journey with a factory-provided NAV radio, I would really appreciate if you would please send me a private message with your VIN so I can find out whether this is an issue with the basic firmware, or whether it is a function of the country configuration, which is in the BCM. Thanks in advance
bfurth
Some dealers may list VIN numbers for new vehicles on their websites. Check the vehicle descriptions and use that.
bramfrank
Interesting suggestion . . . I'll try that, thanks. Edited March 25, 2015 by bramfrank
bramfrank
OK - LOTS of VINs online . . . . thanks again. But the file names are the same as what I have now, so any differences in the radio features are likely tied to a 'country code' buried in the BCM . . . . .
