Cody Chornobey Powley
K so I have all my parts needed to do my retrofit tempted to use my stock headlights I have butyl glue from my previous retrofit that I orders from TRS so no worries about condensation after the fact. Really don't want to spend more money on these lights. I already have 20 watt Cree projector led reverse 50 watts high beam LEDs just for looks cause with the projector I'll have the highbeam. I have the switchback led for turn signal and rear led turn signal are on the way in the mail. Basically spent 200 just on those lights so I don't want to sink another 2-300 on aftermarket just to open up total cost if I do that would be under 700. But has anyone baked their OEM headlight? I herd people say don't waste time on these cause they are permaseal and I'll never get them off and others I've herd of doing the oven deal. Anyone does this to their OEM lights???!!! Lobitz68
TRS recommends 285 for 15 minutes... You may have to repeat. They have a video if you want to get details... EDIT: Make sure you preheat so you are actually at 285 for the full 15 minutes... Lawdog1911
Ebay has a set of DJ lights for under $130 shipped. I might pick up another set to resell .
Cody Chornobey Powley
Not looking to spend more than I have to. I'll just put them in the over. Put my elantra lights in a few times without problems. But since these are permaseal I'll have to bake a few times I guess

I found videos of people using a cutting iron but I really don't want to do that
Lobitz68
This video has it as a note: I couldn't find an actual video for permaseal, but Andrew from TRS points to this video when asked about permaseal.
Cody Chornobey Powley
I think someone should make a video for permaseal lights, I would but I only have a tablet to use. Is the instruction on how to remove the headlight fro. The journey. I've looked at it today and seen three screws probably have to remove the front grille eh? Lobitz68
you have to remove the grill, the tabs in the wheel well and two screws on each side that hold the bumper in place. after that you can pull the bumper forward a little and get pretty good access. there are 2 tabs where the wheel junts out on the bumper that you need to release as well. Cody Chornobey Powley
Holy. Is there a reference somewhere I could use? I'm sure its not hard to figure out but just to make the process faster and easier would be nice

Powerz69
It's a pain in the a$$ to get the headlights out. As for the permaseal heat and pick a corner to start working on. Try to slide a small flat blade screwdriver along the edges to loosen the permaseal up. Once you can get a 1/4 way open the rest is a lot easier. You will chew up the plastic channel but you can straighten it out very good with a heatgun after. You are thinking to much about it, since you opened headlights before it's the same just a bit longer and tougher. WEAR GLOVES! Cody Chornobey Powley
Think a 2010 set would fit the 14? They look the same but maybe mounting is different?
