Just purchased our gray Journey Crew last night for $25,100 plus tax/fees. It has all the Crew options except for the 8.4" screen and back-up camera. We didn't want to pay the extra couple thousands for those options. Seemed like a good deal at a couple grand under invoice! Totally love it so far! And we got 26mpg on the 150 mile drive home, which is a huge plus for an suv! I've got a couple questions for all of you.

First, please tell me these leather seats will soften up over time! They are super hard right now and aren't too comfortable. Any way we can speed up the break in process on the seats?

Second, what is the break in period for the new 3.5L engine? Are we supposed to change the oil after 1,000 miles, 2,000 miles, etc? I know it's recommended to do so, but I don't see anything in the manual. The manual says every 8,000 miles...but is that for regular oil or synthetic?

Third, unfortunetely our wheels are already out of balance. Driving home the steering wheel was shacking a bit at 50-70mph. Will they cover a new tire rotation under warranty? I also noticed the 225/55/r19 oem tire size is hard to come by. Is there a different tire size we can run? I would prefer something with a wider tread pattern and softer ride if possible.

I'm sure I'll have many more questions in the future. Thanks all!

Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy the Crew. I love mine.

I have never had leather so I can't answer question 1.

The engine is 3.6 liter. The break in information is very short? it is on page 89 of the owners manual.

According to the manual the first oil change is at 6. Months or 13000km.

The vibration if it is out of balance could be rebalanced by the dealer.

You can be 235/55 r 19. Dodge has approved that as a replacement. There are other posts on tires. Yes they are very rare only Kumho makes that size. Lots of choice at the alternative size.

Thanks for the response. I think I'm still going to play it safe and change the oil for the first time probably around 3,000 miles, then at 8000 mile increments after that.

Side question, why are the majority of the members here Canadians? Is this a super popular car way up north?

I am not sure why there are so many Canadians. However, we are a social lot.

This also might help explain:

The Journey does sell well in Canada. The last sales figures on Wiki has Canadians buying half as many than are bought in America.

Yet Canada only has 35 million people. Compared to 313 million for the US.

The Journey is a good vehicle for our climate. Good in snow.

That's crazy, I really don't see them here in California.

One more thing, I thought I read somewhere that you can roll down the front windows with the remote. Wasn't it by hitting unlock twice, and holding on the second press? I couldn't get it to work the other day. Maybe that was an extra option too?
