Overhead reading light problem.

Hi,

In March 2009 we picked up our new UK spec Journey R/T diesel. The following day the alarm kept going off and speaking with the dealer this turned out to be a known Dodge problem and that it would need new alarm sensors that fit between the reading lights above the second and third row of seats. This fixed the alarm problem.

Now two years later I've noticed the left reading light in the second row and the right reading light in the third row have stopped working properly. When the doors are open they are very dim compared to the reading lights on the opposite side. Also with the doors shut the failed lamps are also very dim when pushed -certainly you can read with them in the dark. The lights on the opposite sides of the failed ones still work and so does the long lamps at the rear of the units.

My questions are;

1 Has anyone else had their reading lights fail?

2 If they have failed and the lamp units have been replaced does the problem with the alarm going off return or have the replacement lamps got the modified sensors in them, or were the modified alarm sensors swapped with the new lamp units?

Cheers!
