nmsuman
So I really do like this vehicle. Granted as with every car there are some things I would like to change, but overall it has treated us well. Things I DO like: 1. Pickup of the Pentastar V-6. This was nice on the Autobahn in Germany as it did well at keeping a moderate pace on road trips. I don't think I would have liked the 4-Cylinder option as well. 2. AWD System. Granted it's not a Audi Quatro system, but I found it very capable in the moderate/light snow fall I have received in both parts of the world I have driven the car. Things I DON'T like: 1. 2012 Model Year Brakes: As this was the year prior to international sales in Europe under the Fiat (Freemont) name, it still had the small diameter front/rear disc brakes. As I received our Journey in Europe as a overseas military sales car and put a fair amount of kilometers on it in Germany, you could see that the 2012 model year was NOT built for Autobahn speeds. I trust that the ~2014 and new cars which I know from looking have a larger diameter brake setup. 2. Rear Lift gate umbilical cable: In the last 7 years, I have had this cable repaird 1-2 times and replaced one time. However the cables are packaged to action the functions of the lift gate (i.e., Wiper, lock, lights) would suddenly stop working. Best is when it is the lock and you open the trunk only to be greeted by the alarm. John/Horace
Dodge Journey Guide
There are quite a few Dodge Journey's on the roads here in Florida. It's still surprising that Dodge didn't replace either the Caravan or Journey.......
