Dunkalicious Posted June 4 Report Share Posted June 4 About a month ago I bought a used 20162.4L Journey. The day after I bought it my engine light came on P0016. Replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor. Light turned off light was good.... 2 days later... Cruising down the Road and then the engine light comes back on this time with 0016 and p000b and p008. The AutoZone guy said replace the VVT exhaust solenoid and it would fix everything. So that's what I did. And again check engine light turns off and everything is good to go.. 2 hours later.. the light comes back on. This time it was just p0016 again so once again I replace the crankshaft positioning sensor. And just like the other times the check engine light turns off and the truck runs fine. Four an hour or two maybe even for the night. But this continues and that same fashion numerous times. After the third replacement of the crankshaft positioning sensor I went ahead and also replaced the camshaft positioning sensor and then I replaced all of them at once. That was last night and today we get in the vehicle and drive for about 20 minutes and my best friend the check engine light turns back on. Now accompanying this my car also has been heating up to about 240° for the oil temp in about 170 for the trans temp. No right before the check engine light comes on you can feel the truck shift in the way that it drives it will be running very smoothly have plenty of power and then it just almost like it it's in limp mode but not quite but only about 2 minutes before the engine light comes on it's kind of funny because my husband and I always call it right before it happens. We are at a loss for what it possibly can be and we are supposed to be driving across the country right now moving but we are too scared to drive to the next town over. Now our truck was part of the recall and which they had to replace the wiring harness for the crankshaft positioning sensor. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with each other but it was part of it. I'm hoping that somebody out there he's already been through this situation and has some sort of solution if so please please let me know thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
