brockpsu Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share Posted February 15, 2011 I just bought an 09 SXT, white. I would like to remove the pinstrip on it, but was wondering if it would look ok. Do you guys and gals think the paint will look faded around where the stripe was? Or do you think it will match since the stripe has only been on 2 years? FleshWound Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share Posted February 15, 2011 the paint should NOT be faded as there's a clear coat on top of the base coat. That being said, you may need to buff the area to remove any dirt and such that has built up around the edges. check the pinstripe for cracking which may occur if it was waxed, making the removal a real chore many folks have removed their side mouldings without issues. The common reaction when the mouldings were removed was a slight difference in sheen, which equalized in a couple of days once the area was exposed to the air.
