What I have learned

I was able to be one of the last to lease a vehicle right before they stopped them. The last day.

I traded my Dodge truck in for this pretty cool looking crossover they had. What a mistake to buy a newly built car.

At about 6,000 the alarm just randomly would start going off, the fix unlock manually with key, then start the car. This is really fun at 3 in the morning when you hear a horn going off that wakes you up to find out it is yours. At first I was concerned maybe someone had broken into my garage and tried stealing such a gem. NOPE!!! So after multiple trips to the dealer for this still no fix. Can't seem to duplicate the issue!! DUH

18,000 miles I needed new brake pads, rotors were warped, and the tires were worn. Called Chrysler and after a few calls they agreed to pay for the everything all I had to pay for was $50 for the work.(except for the tires). Chrysler told the dealer to replace with all new parts, but got away with just turning the rotors. Two weeks later after new tires were put on they respun the rotors because they were still bad. Well in the 2 weeks the airbag light came on and there is a weird noise coming from the engine along with the smell of rubber burning.

They turned off the airbag light, but I guess the pulley screw for the water pump was coming out and thats where the smell was coming from. So after a few days they fixed the issue.

Nothing to major since the usual radio not working sometimes and the alarm still randomly goes crazy. Im thinking of having it towed to the dealer next time it happens.

There is also some clunking going on in the steering when you turn and when you go over bumps. Oh the back break pads need replaced!! At 25,000 the BACK breaks are bad.

When you have tires put on, if you have the chrome clad rims you will need to have someone with the proper balancing machine to balance them, because of the plastic on the rim they cant get it to fit properly to have the tire balanced. I was also told the tires are only good for about 21,000 thats the 19's. The tire installer was showing me on the balancer, he would have it balanced then put it on the machine again and it would be off. It has to have the 5 studs to hold the wheel on.

On more thing does anyone get this loud squeek from the back right tire area sometimes when driving? It almost sounds like a whistle when I drive.

Dont get me wrong had this stuff never happened, I would say this is a great car. I loved it when we first got it. These issues are expected on a new build, Im just upset Chrysler doesnt want to do anything to fix the problems.

I seen the new one due out, I hear they replaced the steering and more importantly the engine.

Haven't had an issue with the brakes or alarm on ours yet, 20k in. The Journey was replacing a Mazda that had the same problem though, the alarm would go off in the middle of the night randomly. It would reset just by hitting the button though, and after a week or so I just started hitting the button on the remote without getting out of bed. I doubt I even woke up a couple times lol

The problem turned out to be a loose/frayed wire and loud (usually bass) stereos. If someone drove by with loud tailpipes or a booming stereo and it vibrated the wire just the right way it'd go off.

I had this problem with the alarm from the first day I picked up my DJ, a call to the dealer soon fixed the problem with the Alarm, he simply told me when activating the alarm to press the 'lock' button on the key fob four times or until an audible "beep" sounds from the car, this, apparently activates all of the Alarm options but crucially disables the motion sensing part, wether this works for anyone else I couldnt say It could be a more insidious fault with your system that needs a more thorough investigation, however, give this a try as It worked for me, now I press the fob 4 times til I hear the beep and the Alarm has never gone off accidentally again.
