  1. I had the PTU replaced again for the 3RD TIME with 54000 miles in March. The new one started leaking right away and they replaced a seal. It is now leaking again. Luckily I have the lifetime drivetrain warranty, but I'm getting real tired of this!!
  2. Well, I took my Journey in for the warped rotors again (8900 miles) and they replaced all 4 of them. I talked to the service manager about fixing the real problem and he basically blew me off, saying they don't see this as a common problem. He said next time I'm on my own. JK
  3. I had my rotors turned in November with 5000 miles because of vibration, and guess what? I now have 8500 miles and it's already coming back. I do almost all suburban driving and have never done a panic stop. In one month my Journey will be 1 year old, so I'll soon be making a trip to the dealer to ask them nicely for a permanent fix.
  4. Speedy77: I haven't had anymore leaks since the PTU was replaced in August. The only thing I've done since was have the brake rotors refaced. I did buy an extended warranty - supposedly get the cost refunded if I don't use it (ha). I really like this car (do you call it a car? truck?) a lot. I plan on keeping it a long time JK
  5. I got front & rear Husky liners and yeah, they fit real well. We're getting our 1st flakes of the winter right now and the salters are out in full force! I like it that they cover a lot more area than the Mopar slush mats. I wish they made some for my wife's '08 Caravan. I got them online from autoanything.com. They had the best price. JK
  6. I got tired of the vibration when braking, so I took it to the dealer yesterday. They turned all 4 rotors. Just hit 5000 miles.
  7. I would also pick #2- #1 looks like something's missing, and #3 kinda looks homemade. JK
  8. I have not even 4000 miles and can feel warpage in the rotors when stopping and have never made a panic stop to generate heat. When the time comes (which won't be too long), I'll look into aftermarket brakes. JK
  9. I had my PTO unit replace this week too. It was leaking last month and took it in (I posted it on another thread on the forum) and nobody in the area had one in stock. At 1st they were going to replace the seal, then decided to replace the whole unit. While they were at it they did a few recalls, including the 'honk on left turn' power steering reservoir. JK
  10. No- The underside of the car has it spread all over. New dark oil spots on my concrete driveway. I'm kinda pi$$ed about it. My wife had off today, so I had her take it in this morning. They told her they have to replace an o-ring on the transmission that they can't get til tomorrow. I'll find out when I pick it up tomorrow night. JK
  11. Yesterday (Saturday) I noticed a couple spots on my driveway, and looked under my Journey and saw the underside was wet. I couldn't tell where it was coming from and I took a piece of white paper to let it drip onto. It's brown. I put a couple of drops from the oil dipstick next to those spots on the paper and it's a different shade of brown (transfer case oil?) I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Only 2300 miles. JK
  12. At first I was getting 16- 17 mpg. Now with 2300 miles it's 18-19. Not much of any highway miles, so I'd be happy with 20 mpg around town. JK
  13. Fronts only? Mopar has slush mats too. Do you think these will give better protection?
  14. The 2000 Cirrus I traded in for my Journey constantly had brake rotor warping problems since I bought it-- the only real problem I had with that car. The vibration really got on my nerves. But the last time it needed front brakes I did it myself with new rotors again. I went the last 2 years without vibration. I determined that shops were warping the rotors when using their impact wrenches to tighten the aluminum rims. Of course, when I did the brake job in my garage I tightened them with a hand wrench. From now on I'll tell them to tighten the rims without impact wrenches. JK

    nice feature

    I tried the window trick after seeing it on this forum. Pretty neat...... but I looked in the owner's manual to see how I could have missed it, and it's not in there. I wonder what other electronic tricks there are?? JK
