  1. Lately I've noticed my temp gauge going higher than normal and the fan cycling more during idle or when stuck in traffic on my 2009 with the 6cylinder 3.5l. Lots of miles on this (135,000). So I am wondering if it's just a case of needing a coolant flush or if anyone has had an issue with the thermostat sticking on your vehicle. Or any other comments about what might be causing the heat build up.
  2. Took a hard bump to the rear end of my 2009. They of course did not have insurance. Aside from some paint scratches to the bumper the hit was in the wrong place so the carrier / cover that the spare (donut) tire rest in got cracked and damaged to where it will not stay unless the tire holds it. Can't really put spare up without it as exhaust pipe runs real close and the cover had a heat shield to protect the tire. Question to all........ Is this likely a dealer only item ?? Or might I be lucky enough to find aftermarket versions ? I'm trying to find parts break down for that area of the car but not having much luck. I'm looking for a part number. I do not see on the broken one. Thanks for reading.
  3. On my 2009 I have now lost function of most controls on driver door. Only rear windows respond. (no front, mirrors, lock/unlock). I too also have an "airbag" alert on the dash. Can anyone that received the recall notice and had work done comment on there issues and if they were resolved by the dealer. Of course all dealers are different. But I'm just looking to see if your repairs corrected your problems or if they trying to say they were not related to the recall. Thx
  4. After a recent oil change I reset the "change oil" reminder per the instructions (since shop forgot to). Warning now gone. But since then or soon after (didn't pickup on when exact time started). My interior warning chimes no longer work. You know, the dings you get each time you start the vehicle. Also I tested the seat belt reminder and the light flashes, but no sound. Did I do something wrong during the oil warning reset ?? Might I just have a fuse out, or real issue that will require a visit to the dealership ?? Thanks !
  5. If I am to believe the computer (on-board) it's currently showing 25.5 This after a 500 mile weekend and did include some traffic jams ( I-65 Indiana ) on the way down. My Journey is now a getting better average than the T-n-C I let go for this. (23.5)
  6. Purchased my 09 in February. Inferno Red SXT, no third row (didn't need) seats. Not a lot of add-ons since SXT comes with good package. Logging lots of miles already ( 11,000 ). Very happy with it. Found this forum and thought it might come in handy from time to time even if it's just sharing my reviews. Always suscribed to Dodge, Chrylser van forums while I owned them. It was time to down-size and the Journey fit the price range. Thanks for allowing me to join. Hckynut56 ( Ron )
