  1. Actually, what I found out was that the hood is comprised of two pieces of stamped aluminum. There is a seal that runs along the front bottom of the hood. If the seal is not solid, water gets under the paint and causes it to bubble up, looking like surface rust. I brought my Black Journey SXT in to the dealer. They took photos of the problem and forwarded it to Chrysler, who authorized the dealer to sand down the bubbles, reseal the seam, and repaint the areas free of charge, since it was still under basic warranty. Took 1 day.
  2. Just received in the mail that my dealer has the wiring harnesses now in stock. Will have them installed in the next week.
  3. Just received a recall notice in the mail today for the wiring harnesses. Called the dealer, but they don't have the replacement parts in yet.
  4. I recently brought my '09 Journey in for an oil change, and the service tech said that for a $100 deductable, I could get new brake pads and rotors, from a new parts supplier that supposedly has better brake parts than that of their old supplier. I was not able to get those parts installed at that time, since the dealer didn't have the parts in stock. Probably have had a run on those new brakes since the old ones are garbage. Good luck on your repairs.
  5. When I brought my '09 Journey injust recently, I was told by the service writer that their is a recall out for the front driver and passenger door wiring harnesses. This just was sent out to the dealers, and Chrysler hasn't sent out the replacement harnesses yet, but soon will, so I wasn't able to get mine replaced yet. Will let you know when I hear more on this.
  6. I just brought my '09 Journey in for an oil change, and I was told that my brake pads and rotors were to be replaced by a new third-party suppliers parts, since the previous ones were poorly made! I knew of the previous issues with the brakes people were having, and was just accepting of the fact I would need to replace them soon and often. Hearing this from my dealer was definitely good news to my ears. The service writer said that my vehicle was covered under a $100 deductable, which, compared to a full brake job, I was willing to pay. So hopefully others out there will be able to get the same deal I did and get their brakes replaced with these new ones.
  7. Aluminum hood or not, the paint is bubbling up on it at the passenger side top front corner. I'll snap a photo and post it here soon.
  8. Hi everyone. I have a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT that I bought new in January 2009. My wife pointed out to me the other day that my paint is bubbling up on the front passenger side corner of the hood. I couldn't believe my eyes when, sur enough, the paint is bubbling up. It's about a quarter size area. I live in MN, and even though we have snow and salt on roads, there's no way rust should be forming on my car yet. I've owned numerous cars, and none have had rust forming this early on. Has anyone else heard of this problem coming on so soon before on theirs or someone elses Journey?
