  1. Good luck! Please keep us posted. I was told the same thing several times at the old (bad) dealership. They also said "did we forget to tell you the vehicle is made to leak" and they also said "the new vehicle was not made to go thru car washes", don't buy that either. A brand new vehicle is NOT suppose to leak......
  2. To Armand Savet, I am so sorry to hear that you have the same problem that I had. Good Luck! I had three specialist to look at mine. I also had a great relationship with the dealership until I had a problem with my Journey. I will never go back to that dealership!!! I wish you all the luck. Please keep us posted on the outcome. I picked up my new Journey Saturday. Thank you Franklin Chrysler Dodge for all that you do! It took me 9 months and I had to find a great dealership (out of town) to help me out. But in the end the pain was worth it. I love my Journey and I am very happy with the out come. I have inserted a picture of my new Journey, she is beautiful and I love it. Remember this Journey is just like my old one with no sunroof. By the way, I walked away Saturday with my new Journey, my husband went home with a new Dodge Durango Citadel! It also is one beautiful vehicle! I will continue making the drive for the great customer service that I received at Franklin Dodge. The drive is well worth it!
  3. My original dealership is listed below and yes they treated me like a piece of dirt. The sales manager said 5 days after I drove the Journey off the lot and got wet "I'm sorry there is nothing that I can do, take it to service" and the service manager "Keith" well you don't even want to get me started on him. He didn't have a clue as to how to fix the problem, so he continued to lie and make the problem worst. I will tell you this is a high volume dealership. We are a army based town, so they sell lots of vehicles and they do not stand behind them! You can check this out on Google. They spell there name several different ways, imagine that. My dad worked for GMAC for 30 years and I have owned several vehicles with sunroofs and I have never had one that leaked, maybe I was just lucky. I love the Chrysler vehicles and I love the Journey, so "YES" I will be very happy to get my journey back without the sunroof. All I ever asked for was a Journey just like mine that did not splash me in the face while driving down the road. I am very excited that Franklin Dodge located in Franklin TN helped me to do this and I will never forget that Franklin Dodge made me feel like a great customer. Franklin Dodge and the people that works there are the best! 4. I had the dealer to find a Journey just like mine with no sunroof. I loved the Journey! I am finally so excited, I can't wait to get it! I will let you know as soon as I get it. Again, thanks for all of you that supported me in this process.
  5. GREAT NEWS! I am happy to say that Chrysler is buying my 2013 Journey back with their buy back program. I received a call that my sunroof can not be repaired, so they are finally replacing my Journey. I have requested a Journey just like mine or better with no sunroof. I am not taking any chances this time. Wanted to share the good news this morning and also thank each and everyone of you for all of your support. You guys have been great! Thank you Franklin Dodge for all of your help also.
  6. They are feeding you the same CRAP that I am getting. I brought mine August 2013 and it has been in the shop longer then I have drove it. So far I have talked to 3 different customer service reps at dodge cares, no luck, they have NOT been helpful with getting my Journey fixed. GOOD LUCK! By the way, my Journey is in the shop now waiting for another water specialist to look at it!
  7. I dropped my Journey off at Franklin Dodge Saturday morning. I also talked with them about a trade for a Journey just like mine with no sunroof. I really would like for Chrysler to step up to the plate without me having to start the Lemon Law process. My husband loves the Dodge products and wants me to give them every opportunity to get this problem corrected. He also is wanting to purchase a Durango, but if they can't stand behind my Journey, I feel they will not stand behind any other products. I just refuse to go thru this mess again where I feel nobody at Chrysler cares. I don't need another problem. My patience's are gone!! I am so unhappy at this point I have just gave up! I will keep you updated as to what happens this time.
  8. Thank you for the crash course. Now here is the update on my Journey. It rained here yesterday, so I drove my Journey down the interstate to see what was going to happen. I am sorry to tell you that now the sunroof in the closed position spits water on the passenger and the driver, and I have a noise in the roof that sounds like 2 Styrofoam cups rubbing together. I GIVE UP! I know the technicians at Franklin Dodge are trying there best to correct this problem and I'm sure this is as frustrating to them and it is to me! I am lost for words and so frustrated! At this point I wish I would have never purchased this Journey!
  9. I picked my Journey up late yesterday afternoon. I cannot tell you yet if it leaks, but I can tell you that going down the interstate the roof liner makes all kind of noise. It was very nerve racking. It is calling for rain here Friday and Saturday so I can update you on the leak at that time. To Journeyman425-You also are saying that by design, the roof gasket should allow a few drops of water at a time into the tub. Why did Chrysler design a product to leak? I love the Journey and my opinion is that it is the best looking vehicle out there. I love everything about the Journey other than the leaks and/or problems that I have had from it. The problem with my Journey is not in the drain line. The problem is it leaks so badly that the drain line cannot handle the amount of water that is coming in. Not sure if you are talking about me or the other lady with the Journey that leaked (sounds just like my Journey problem) but, I purchased my Journey August 19th, 2013. I have not had my Journey a year. The Journey was an Anniversary present from my husband on that day. I can tell you the Journey has been in the shop every month since August with the service department trying to correct the leaks. The first few months my Journey was taken to Gary Mathews Dodge in Clarksville TN. It was taken there several times, they did not have the knowledge to correct the problem and the service manager would either hide from you or he would send someone else out to you just to say the vehicle is fixed, take it home knowing that he only had accomplished making the problem worst. I will also add Gary Mathews team lied and were very rude. I left there in tears trying to get someone to listen and to help me. After such bad experience with them, I now take the Journey to Franklin Dodge. The Journey has been at Franklin Dodge three times, November, December and in January, but I will give them credit, they listen and they have admitted that the leaks were there and they are trying hard to correct them. I only hope this time when it rains that it doesn’t leak. I know this can be as frustrating to them as to me. I will update as soon as we get rain. I did not receive a invoice yesterday while picking up my Journey. The person that in charge of my Journey was out of the office and paperwork had not been completed. I was told the gasket around the sunroof was replaced again and realigned. They also realigned the roof panel. It looks much better!
  10. I want to say "Thank You" for all of your concern... I am taking off work this afternoon and picking my Journey up. I can't wait, I love the Journey. I just want to be able to drive it in the rain. I will keep you up to date.
  11. My husband just got a call, my Journey is ready for pick up, so I am leaving work early tomorrow to pick it up.... Can't get there today because the dealership is about 75 to 85 miles away and I have to give a notice to my boss on the job so that I want loose it.... Wish me luck! Calling for rain at the end of the week, so I will update you as to what is happening.

    Leaking Sunroof?

Looks like there are several forums going on out there. I have inserted the link to some more sunroof problems. The only thing that I can say is I brought my Journey on August 19th 2013 and the Journey has been in the shop more than what I have had the chance to drive it.. I am so disappointed, a part of me wishes that I had never purchased it. If you ask the question, does the sunroof leak before you buy the Journey you are told no. After you buy the Journey and you take it back to the service department you are told, well the Journey has been designed to leak. Maybe Chrysler Dodge needs to find out from there service managers which lie they are telling the customer. These service managers are running people away from this product and that's sad. A year from now we will hear that Chrysler is in trouble again and they will pretend they don't know why. My husband just got a call and was told that my Journey has been fixed and it is ready for pickup one more time. Wish me luck! I will update you as to what happens at the end of the week when it rains.... http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/4566-2013-rt-sunroof-problem/page-5#entry33759
  13. The update on my Journey is the dealer still has it! I spoke with them on Saturday when I got back into town and was told they didn't really know what the hold up was on fixing the leak, but they would call me when the Journey was ready for pick up. My plan is to contact them again today to see if I can find out more information on what is going on. I will let you know as soon as I find out what is happening. I truly hope one day I can enjoy my Journey. Thank you so much for your concern.
  14. Journeyman425, I appreciate you! Chrysler Dodge needs more people like you. Thank you for asking. I dropped my Journey off yesterday morning. I showed them where the sunroof would not shut properly and where when you closed the sunroof, the gasket would pop up on the outside of the roof panel on the backside. I then showed them the area where I felt most of the water was coming in. You couldn’t miss that, the dirt left a streak of mud going into the drain channel. When the sunroof was worked on the last time, they put the roof up with Commercial Velcro and left it about 1 inch off all away around, so I asked them to correct that problem and yes I know what Commercial Velcro is, I am HVAC certified. You could clearly see this around the rearview mirror. I am totally exhausted with the problems that I have had with this Journey. Is seems every time I leave the Journey for repair, I have more problems when I pick it up. I will be out of town all next week so I pleaded with them to take their time and to please fix these problems. I am scheduled to pick up my Journey on Monday, January 27th. I will continue to update you on this progress. Please wish me luck. This is the sixth or seventh time that my Journey has been in the shop for sunroof leaks and so far the problems continue to get worst. Sorry, I guess my patients are wearing thin. At one point I really felt these problems could be corrected, but now after more damage was created from the Clarksville TN Dodge Dealer, I’m just not sure! I am so disgusted!
  15. Before you take delivery of your Journey, I would highly suggest that you test drive it to the nearest car wash. If it leaks at that point "RUN" refuse to take it before it leaves the car lot. After you drive it off the lot your sales manager will want 7 to 8 thousand dollars to trade for one just like it that don't leak. My Journey had less than 500 miles at that point. I don't care what they tell you, if it leaks in the car wash, it will leak in a heavy rain. The sales manager will then tell you that the leakage is in the design, that's what the drains are for. He then will say just wait until the next rain and we will see if it leaks again. Then when it leaks they will make an appointment with the service department, you don't even want to get me started on that jerk (Clarksville TN Service Manager). Sorry, if it goes that far you are doomed. I have been dealing with trying to get my Journey fixed since Aug 19th 2013 and guess what, the Journey has more problems now than before they started working on it and on top of that, it rained here yesterday and sure enough on my way home I got sprinkles flying into my face. I totally feel helpless! I am taking off work again and driving 70 miles to the next nearest Dodge Dealer on Thursday of this week to see if they can fix it. This will be the second time that it has been there for sunroof repair. Like I said, I feel totally helpless at this point!
  16. Thank you! I appreciate the support that the people on this forum has given to me. I truly appreciate you!
  17. Update: I am working with a new CAC Case Manager now and I have a appointment to take my Journey back to the shop on Thursday January, 16th. Again, I have to take off work, but just hoping it gets fixed. Please wish me luck!
  18. Who did you contact? Can you help me to find the correct person? I have contacted everyone that I know to contact with no luck. My only savior so far has been that I keep it inside my garage. My garage has protected it against all of the major water damage. Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong. I am literally afraid to drive it when the weather is calling for rain and if I have to drive it, I always cover the seat where the water spurts out. The Chrysler dealer in Clarksville TN does not have a clue as to how to correct the problem, they just say the vehicle was designed to leak, that is what the drains are for and in order to keep taking it back to Franklin, I have to take a 1/2 day off from work. I don't want to have problems or lose my job over this Journey. I was hoping beyond hope that Chrysler would step up to the plate and help me, but I have not heard anything from Chrysler since my husband contacted them a little over a week ago. The person he talked to agrees I am not being treated very well and then they never call back. Not sure at this point who to contact or what to do next, so confused!
  19. Happy to hear that you think that all sunroof don't leak. I was told by the dealership "service manager" after I purchased the RT that they did and that was what the drains were for. I only hope that you are correct in what you are saying. My father worked for GM for 30 years and I have always drove a GM product with a sunroof until now and I have never had any problems with them leaking. I guess I was just lucky but I have learned the hard way to never purchase any vehicle with a sunroof again. You are right, it's not worth the risk. My husband has driven the Chrysler Dodge product for years and has loved them, but he has never had any problems with them. I will agree that Chrysler Dodge has the best looking vehicles. I fell in love with the Dodge Journey RT, so my husband surprised me on our anniversary with it. I was so happy and I loved it until it rained! That is when all of the problems started and the problem has never been corrected. I really feel we have been given the run around from Chrysler Dodge ever since!
  20. Thank you!!! I was told when I purchased the warranty that if a problem could not be fixed that they would replace the vehicle with a new one as long as I owned it. What I have seen is Gary Mathews made the problem worst, created more damage to my vehicle and sad to me, deal with it, it's doing just what it is supposed to do. So I took off work and took the RT to Franklin Dodge, Franklin Dodge was great and they did replace the sunroof with a new one, but the problem has not been corrected. At this point I don't think the problem can be fixed. I feel the only choice I have is to glue the sunroof and hate the RT or just trade it off. Trading it off is really not fair to the person that will buy it next. It's called the trickle-down effect. One unhappy customer turns into two unhappy customers. What I have seen so far is Chrysler took my money and now is saying to me, sorry you will need to glue your sunroof in, but our company will not do this for you, you will need to do this on your own with an independent contractor. I'm still confused, what good is the life time warranty? What would you think if this happened to you? I really do appreciate you for trying to help! Sad, but all I want is what I paid for, a new vehicle "Dodge Journey" that does not leak! A VEHICLE THAT I CAN LOVE AND TRUST!
  21. To who ever this may concern; I have to say to you that I am and continue to be so disappointed with my brand new 2013 Dodge Journey RT. Yesterday and I went to a memorial to a dear close friend that die, I was ashamed to drive my journey into the church parking lot and into the procession where we laid him to rest because of the dirt and salt brine that covered it because I am unable to take the vehicle thru a car wash without getting me splashed and I don’t want to take the chance the vehicle might get wet inside. I thought that the most embarrassing time for me until today. Today, as I picked up a friend and took food to the friends and family, it wasn’t raining very hard so I didn’t expect my friend and the hot food to be splashed on as I drove down the road to delivery it. I again was so sadden to know that my life has been put on hold while Chrysler Dodge decides what they might or might not do to help me. I am also sadden to know that I drive a brand new Dodge vehicle with a full life time warranty on it that I cannot drive in the rain without worrying how much water will come in this time. What is wrong with you? Are you really such a non-carrying company that you not only will not stand behind your product, you don’t even stand behind you own warranty? I am saddened with pain from my friend that past, but I also have to say these tears are also for the vehicle that I drive. So lost for words at this point!
  22. I am so sorry to hear that you are going thru the same problems that I am having. I am still so upset over my Journey. I have been to hell and back trying to get my Journey fixed, but so far I have had no luck. Please keep me posted on how your turns out.
  23. Thank you for your support, only wish the rest of the Dodge Reps felt the way you do!
  24. I have contacted that number and we have been working with a gentleman named Marvin. Very nice man, no help, no solution! His advise was to seal, but I do thank you for your concern. I wished everyone felt the way you do about the dodge products. Bottom line is I cannot drive this vehicle in a car wash or heavy rain. Small amounts of water splashes inside on the headliner, the small amounts of water will sooner or later turn into mold and mildew. At that point this vehicle is not only a problem vehicle, it's a medical condition that I can so do without. I truly love the journey, but it's not worth the problems that it can create down the road. I guess I'm kind of giving up.. Is there another number to which I might call for help?
  25. I AM SO UPSET! The sunroof has been completely replaced. Please don’t get me wrong Franklin Dodge done a great job and I am very happy with their customer service and the water coming into the drain is a smaller amount, but the roof still continues to leak in a heavy rain and still splashes on you in the car wash. I am still being told that is normal and there is nothing that can be done, that it is doing what it is supposed to do, “drain correctly”. Dodge rep solution is to permanently seal the sunroof. I am very disappointed. I have checked into trading the Journey in for one just like it with no sunroof, but the money different is just too high. I have never been so disappointed in my life with a new vehicle. I wish I had never brought the Journey. I will be trading this vehicle and it will not be another Chrysler product; sad thing is the vehicle becomes somebody else’s problem. Dodge just doesn’t understand, I am highly allergic to mold and mildew, I take shots every week and I am afraid if I keep the Journey it will only make my medical condition worst. Up until this point I loved the dodge products and I was 100% confident that dodge would stand behind their product. I am so sorry to say that I was wrong! By the way, I purchased the life time warranty from dodge when I purchased the Journey, my question is, what good is it? I have wasted and lost a lot of time and money on a brand new vehicle that I am afraid to drive.
