  1. I don't understand people that drive those silly Crown Vics.....I mean trying to look like a cop car? I mean even cops are moving away from such a piece of ***** these days. Crown Vic has to be one of the Ugliest cars to ever been built on this planet, and glad it came out of North America and not Europe :-)

Of course cops are moving away from Crown Vics, they haven't been built since 2011. Ever try to put 4 "home boys" in the back seat of a Charger? Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one!

  2. Ive drove alot of vehicles on icy roads none of which handle like this one.

I.ve got the same problem with mine. Must be the fwd. Mine even does it at 60kph. With the weather we've had over the past month had to park it and get into my F150 4x4.

Those guys down east and south don't know our road conditions are different than their's. They have more moisture sitting on top than us due to their warmer temps.

  3. -25? Holy Crap!! I cant imagine what that must feel like.

Or how an engine can even turn over at that temp.

We had -38.6 C here a few days ago. -40 C is about where it evens out to F. We have electric block heaters up here in Northern Alberta that heats up the coolant to help start easier. Everything whines at those temps. Keep smiling down South! B)

To quote an old Jack Benny saying "you're only as old as you feel, right now I feel like a 30 year old, trouble is there is never a cute one around when you want one"

He also said trying to make love at 85 is like trying to shoot pool with a piece of spaghetti!

  5. Nice writeup. I use the Porter Cable 7424 orbital polisher and the klasse "Twins", polish and sealer from eshine. Never use the brush at the car wash unless you want swirls and scratches and no, the spray wax at car wash is not going to protect your paint. If your paint is a few years old it needs a clay job or all you will do is grind all the grit into your paint when you wax.

  6. Boy, I can totally relate. I wash mine by hand 2 or 3 times a week at least. I'm glad I have the WeatherTech floormats with all the rain this year. Every other week I use vinyl cleaner on the door panels, seats and dash. I'm surprised that the brake dust hasn't been too bad. The DJ sure takes longer to clean than my old Neon though, LOL. The great thing about the paint treatment I have, I don't have to wax and I always use microfiber towels to hand dry. I also have a bottle of pre-mix detailer in case of air attacks. I keep looking for better wash mitts, so any suggestions?

    Try eshine.ca

  7. Ok guys, I have a serious disease. I can't stop cleaning our new Journey!

My wife usually drives the car. Last night she came home with the kids after a baseball game. The parking lot was obviously dusty. Then we had a light rain shower this morning so the car was all spotted.

Tonight she went to work and took the 300M since the parking spaces at the hospital that she works at are narrow and does not want the new car getting dinged. I love her...

Now, there is rain in the forecast. 20 percent tonight, 70 percent tomorrow, 60 percent tomorrow night. Pretty good shot that it's gonna rain. So, what did I do?

With an hour and a half of daylight left, I got out the Ardex spray detailer and proceeded to do the whole car, top to bottom, then shine the tires, wipe down the brake dust and clean the glass.

Now it's dark and I can't see it. Tomorrow it's probably gonna rain and mess it all up anyway. What the hell is wrong with me?

Only you guys will understand this. I didn't post any new pictures because it's too damn dark!

    Is it black? ;)

  8. I would also change it just for peace of mind. Oil does break down over time even though it still looks clean. With stop and go city driving and our Western Canada winters more frequent oil changes are just added insurance.

Most manufacturers would deem this servere driving conditions.

  9. Hello Dave, and welcome. I'm new to the site also and finding the forums very interesting reading. Know what you mean about your fuel prices but I also know you guys get some pretty nice vehicles over there that aren't available to us in Canada and USA. Hear weather has been bit rotten over there lately. Enjoy your stay.

  10. New Journey owner from Alberta. Name is Glen and old enough that I checked the obits this morning and I wasn't there. :headspin: Bought a black 2011 Journey SXT for the wife couple of weeks ago and just getting used to it. First Dodge since 1976 B200 short wheelbase van. Always been a Ford guy but she wanted this one. Unit is black, are there any other colours? Have a few ideas for mods but time will tell.
