  1. You can get the chrome body side moldings through the MOPAR site, ebay, or your dealer. I was able to pick them up from my dealer for a couple dollars more than going through ebay (once you added shipping it was almost a wash). The dealer charges $50 to put them on. They screwed mine up (at least in my view, my wife doesn't think so). The moldings (according to the picture in the brochure) should align with the back edge of the front door and the front edge of the back door to give you a nice nearly solid chrome stripe. My dealer centered them (length wise) on the doors leaving about a half inch gap to the front of the back door and back of the front door. Height-wise on the door they look great. Now I'm wondering if I should make them re-do it (with new moldings at their expense of course) and how they would do it without damaging the paint, etc. Argh!!! Or maybe I should just leave them alone. So far to my loaded Inferno Red R/T i've added: Chrome Door Sills (I installed these... easy) (ebay) Chrome License Plate Holders (ebay) Chrome Ram Head Logo License Plate Screw Covers (ebay) Chrome Ram Head Logo Valve Stem Covers (ebay) Dark Slate Slush Mats (ebay) Second back-up set of carpeted mats (ebay) Couple of cool Keychains - Con-rod/piston with Ram Head Logo (ebay) - Chrome detachable version with Ram Head Logo & R/t (ebay) Escort Solo 2 Radar Detector (ebay) I'll have to post a picture if I ever take it out of the garage... don't like getting it dirty
  2. I noticed this too! I heard about it a couple of months before my R/T arrived and thought maybe it was for the early versions and mine would come in with real chrome wheels... NOT! I Think it was kind of sleezy to hide this by calling them "chrome clad" when ordering, this leaves the door pretty wide open for what they could put on. The service manager at my dealer told me that Chrysler did this because they were experiencing a lot of complaints about corrosion of the chrome wheels from winter exposure to road salt, water, and ice. They are also replaceable incase of damage, etc. Hmmmmm. They still look really nice. No one other than us will know I'm afraid to clean them to aggressively. Don't know how I'm going to address getting off baked on brake dust. The owners manual mentions using a MOPAR cleaner. We'll see. Anyone see any pictures of what the wheels look like without the plastic covers on them?
  3. Finally... Ordered my loaded R/T in late December and finally arrived on Monday 02Mar09!!! It's beautiful!!! Everyone at the dealership was crowded around it, and wanted to see who ordered it. People actually stopped looking at other cars and came over to drool over mine! After thinking I wanted an SXT, my wife convinced me to move up to the R/T and add such things as a sunroof & leather which I would have never done for myself. It's great! I added the booster seats (Family Value Pkg) because I like the elegance of these being integrated into the seats. DVD for the kids, mygig for me. My first opportunity to drive it was a business trip was from Wisconsin to Iowa. Rode like a dream. The leather seats were surprisingly comfortable. Love the satellite radio, don't know how I managed without it for so long I didn't notice any of the problems people have been complaining about on other feedback sites. No clunking on left turns, seats aren't like boards, no rattling or squeaking, shifter location isn't obnoxious, etc. The stereo positioning has been talked about quite a bit, and although it takes some time to get used to it makes sense. If the screen were higher it would be distracting in your peripheral vision (like the GPS option - one of the reasons I didn't get it), and with the controls on the steering wheel, I don't even look at it that much any more. Well, so far so good. I'll report more as I log more miles.
