  1. I installed a Hidden hitch on my 11 crew and used a modulite convertor for the wiring. No flash needed for the vehicle. Ran a 2 wire 12 ga to the back to power the module and a spare in case I want to have batt charging for a Teardrop trailer. Installation was a breeze, had the car on ramps at the back. Hitch sticks out a bit but is ok by me.
  2. Second trip to the lake. Towing the boat gave 19 mpg on cruise 108 kmph. Lots of downshifting but handled the chore well. Coming home light load, fair crosswind gave 35.2 mpg by fill and calculate. Evic and scangauge read about the same. They really pour in the fuel in these when starting from a stop. So far the mileage is better than expected. Stop and go cuts it down quite badly, have to drive with a light foot or shut up and put up with it I guess.
  3. First week end trip to the lake with my 2011 demo DJ picked up on Tues. Had 500 km on it when bought. 1st leg 200k- 19.5 ltr 2nd leg 178 km-17.7 ltr 3rd leg 334 km-25.8 ltr home stretch 288km- 27.2 ltr Mileage is as good or better than my previous 08 Patriot. Driving was old man style, speeds from 100 k to 108-9 k to keep under the radar. There was a strong crosswind on some prairie but the best mileage was up in the bush away from the wind and 100 kmph on cruise. Sure does have the power to do a quick pass though, not like winding up the rubber band of the Patriot. Next trip this Friday will be the same but towing the 1200 lb boat up.
  4. Just did my Hella Micro FF lights on my 2011 Journey. Had them on my Patriot but be da### if I was going to let them go on the trade. Made up a ft plate holder with small wings, painted with bedliner paint. Wired them hot to the batt through a relay, have 100 w bulbs in them. A simple toggle switch in the bottom left part of the column trim seemed to be the least damaging spot and easily operated .Switched on the ground side to avoid looking for power under the dash. Does one use Photobucket to post pics here? I'll gladly post a couple. These lights are a good match for the looks of the ft end.
  5. Hello New to the forum, just picked up my almost new 2011 crew. Demo with 500 km on it. The headlights are a joke, kind of p yellow. Put in new bright bulbs and found no real difficulty. A little tight on the dr side but only 10 min worth of work.

Hello to all. Picking up a new 2011 Journey crew on Tues. Traded in an 08 Patriot. Hope this new one is as good as the Jeep was. Looking forward to reading and absorbing info from those who been there, done that. First trip out will be 1,000 km round trip to the lake on Sat/Sun. That'll give it a good run. Mileage is always a concern, the patriot was pretty good, had a Scan Guage to monitor things. On the test drive the factory gauge on the dodge showed the same as my scan. The following weekend is a long one so back to the lake again, then I will be towing my boat up, 1200 lb fishing rig. I'll know pretty quick how it performs. Later Fred
