  1. I agree with what was suggested above. You really shoud try out both then decide which is right for you. I test drove both and in the end went with the 4 for the reduced inital cost plus the savings on fuel whether it was minimal or not. That was the right choice me.
  2. I have the 4 and I find it has sufficient power. It isn't going to impress you with lots of pick up, but it will get this heavy vehicle up and moving fast enough for most occasions. It does have to work a little harder than the 6 for highway driving (I had a 6 as a rental once) but the 4 will do the job nicely. Strangely when running at 105KM/h it is actually better on fuel than my Patriot was with the CVT, and it was a light vehicle to boot!
  3. I have the FWD and invested in a set of winter tires as well. My Journey had no problems in snow last year.
  4. Personally I would take your Journey into shop and get it looked at ASAP. Otherwise it may leave you stranded on the side of the road. If it showing that the ratios are incorrect something has failed internally.
  5. Good Day, When it comes to your discount the website where you got the contol# from should explain how the process works and what the discount is that you should expect. I did this with my Journey but it was one that I was able to get through my work not the family and friends discount. For mine it was only valid on new/demo models (used vehicles were excluded) and any factory incentives were included on top of this before tax. Have a great day!
  6. Personally I like the Kuhmos that came on the Journey. They are smooth, handle well and are generally good in wet weather. Nothing like the Wranglers that came on my Patriot. Those were the worst tire in wet weather I ever had. I never felt safe driving on those and was very happy to replace them when worn. The best tires I have had are the Michelin Hydroedges. Now there is a nice tire. I even saw a very slight improvement in fuel economy when running those on my Patriot.
  7. I had a 2011 7 pass Journey as a rental a couple of years ago and there was no place to mount the cargo cover. I also test drove a 2013 7 pass Journey and from what I could see the body panels still didn't support installing a cargo cover. We went with a 5 pass Journey for the extra storage and the cover.
  8. I believe I may be hearing the same noise when driving but to me it sounds like a spring that is releasing tension. It hasn't been of any concern to me because I had the exact same noise on my 2008 Patriot which I put 173,000KM on in 3.5 years. That vehicle had noises galor. The Journey has been much quieter.
  9. We went for the 5 passenger because we wanted the extra cargo capacity plus the security covers. We rarely have other passengers so the tri-zone with extra seats wasn't worth the extra cost.
  10. The sunroof I had in my 2008 Jeep Patriot always dripped but the drains did their job and kept the inside dry so I was never worried. One thing I did that seemed to help in my opinion was before I would go through a car wash or a major rain storm I would open the sunroof in vent mode and then close it. I found doing this appeared to make a better seal. This may not work for everyone but it seemed to work for me.
  11. @DodgeCACares, I am not sure if someone from Chrysler looks at the Jeep Patriot forum (www.jeeppatriot.com), however, if no one does it would be nice because there are people there who would appreciate the insight that has been provided on this forum.
  12. Thanks for the replies. The hesitation has only happened twice so it would be difficult to reproduce at the moment. As for the sound I believe I may have figured out what it is (hopefully). If I am wrong about the sound I will take it to the dealership and get it checked out. They have treated me well in the past when I had issues with the Jeep and I appreciate your offer DodgeCACares.
  13. Also I only have 3600KM on this vehicle and I purchased it new.
  14. I recently purchased a 2013 Dodge Journey SE Plus with the 2.4L engine. Yesterday when I was approaching a red light it turned green before I could come to a full stop. I then took my foot off the brake and put it on the gas. When I did this the vehicle paused for a second like transmission didn't know what to do and then lurched forward, at the same time it made a pop/snap noise. I have now been noticing that when the vehicle is in motion and I take my foot off the gas to let it coast I get a pop/snap and then I get the same noise when I put my foot back on the gas. Is this normal for this vehicle? I have had many vehicles before that have never does this. Perhaps I am being paranoid where the transmission in my Jeep Patriot failed and I traded it in on the Journey but I just wanted to ask because I am tired of complaining about issues where my Jeep gave me a lot of issues while I had it. Thanks!
  15. I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot with the 2.4L and quite often I have the rough idle as well. I simply live with it. Normally I find it is at it's worst during the summer when I am using the A/C.
  16. Good Day, I have been searching this forum for the last few days to see what people are saying about installing a CAI on a Dodge Journey. I am curious if anyone has tried installing the K&N CAI for the Dodge Avenger 2.4L I-4 http://www.knfilters...?Prod=69-2542TS? I read that some have had success with the V6 engine so I am wondering if the same success can be had with the smaller engine as well. I have found the installation instructions for the 2.4L at the following link... http://www.knfilters...9-2542_inst.pdf If you compare this picture of the Dodge Journey engine compartment... http://carreviewslin...-engine-image4/ To the picture located in this link, the engine configuration does appear to be similar... http://cars.oodle.co...67-lakewood-wa/ Thanks!
