  1. I just got an oil change and tire rotation at the dealer. They told me that I have about 3,000 miles before the pads are worn and want me back before then to replace the pads before they damage the rotors. My Journel has 17,800 miles on it and this seems to be a bit early for brake wear, especially considering my last 2 vehicles went over 45K before getting close to needing new pads. The dealer said that I'm probably one of the 1st local journey owners to have this high mileage, so they don't know if this is premature or not. So, How long are pads lasting for everybody else?
  2. Same here in NY, where front plates are required. I just have 2 holes. 14,700 miles and still holding on though.
  3. I've already lost that plastic cover for the seat track on the driver's side. I've had the door jam plate come loose on me twice already.

    Most miles?

11,200 miles here. Mostly because of my commute to work, that puts on 420 miles a week right there.
  5. I've been averaging about 19.5 mpg with my SXT AWD. I have done the calculations based on fill-up and it is very close to the trip computer's onboard reading. It read 19.7 when I calculated 19.5. By resetting the mpg reading on different trips (same route - 40 miles to work), I have seen that at the same speeds (around 60 mph), I can get my Journey up to 23 mpg if I don't use cruise. Since it's a long fairly stright trip, I usually use cruise control for 90% of my ride, but I may try a week without cruise to see if it makes a big difference. My thought is that since my trip is very hilly, so the cruise control may not be regulating rpms as well as it should. Over the 40 mile ride, I go as high as 1650' and as low as 550'. Has anybody else seen any difference with and without cruise control set?
  6. My wife has a Jeep Patriot 4WD with the 2.4L and I have a Journet SXT AWD 3.5 L. I've driven both and the power is comparable. But, the Patriot has a lot of Engine Noise (maybe the CVT chain) inside. I also found something I don't like about the CVT...it needs to warm up in the cold. From a cold start in zero degrees, it takes about 5 minutes before the Patriot can move more than 2 miles an hour. My experience with the CVT made up my mind that whatever vehicle I drive must have a standard transmission. I am a volunteer EMT and when the pager tones go off, I expect my vehicle to move when I step on the gas. Being in upstate NY, we do get a few nights a year with sub-zero temps.
  7. Thanks! The headings in the Table of Contents lead me to believe it was only about the remote, so I skipped it. And, my old Dodge Ram manual had instreuctiosn for both options in the same place, so I figured they would be together. anyway, that was the right info and I was able to change the settings. Thanks again.
  8. I have asked my dealer's sales manager and he will let me know what he finds out. If I get an answer, I will post it here.
  9. Brad, The $1000 is a Corporate incentive and all dealers will have it. At least in my region. Go to dodge.com, shopping tools menu and look up incentives. It will ask for your zip code. As for the lease, I have never leased, so I don't know. Fred
  10. I picked up my Black Journey SXT AWD w/ the Premium Convenience Group this past Monday. When I was trying out cars at the dealership, the Journey was one of the few vehicles that I was able to sit comfortably in...I'm 6 foot and broad shouldered, so the B-post in many cars digs into my shoulder...not the Journey. Of course, the other amenities also helped in my decision. The Cargo area (no 3rd row) was important since I am a computer consultant and pick up and deliver computers and hardware quite often. I traded down from a Dodge RAM diesel. The diesel prices were killing me.
  11. I have gone through the manual to look for steps to change personal settings like beep on lock, unlock all doors with driver's door, etc. All I can find is directions on how to do this with the EVIC menu system. Since I have the SXT, I only have the basic display, not the full EVIC. In my previous Dodge vehicles, there was a set of steps to change these settings involving turning the key a certain number of times, etc. Is there any way to change these personal settings without the EVIC system?
  12. My journey has the factory UConnect feature. I have paired it with my Verizon XV6800 and the sound quality is good. But, I have a problem. The Uconnect will randomly go into call mode (mute radio, show phone display), even though the phone shows no activity and I didn't press any buttons. At first, I thought I was hitting buttons on the phone while it was in my holster, but I put it in the center cubby and the Uconnect did the same thing. I tried unpairing and repairing using a different code and the same thing happens. I don't know if this is a phone issue or a Uconnect issue. I'm going to try to pair my wife's phone to Uconnect this weekend and see what happens. Does anybody have any ideas on why this may be happening or ideas to fix it?
