  1. Still doing my oil consumption test as well. First time they checked everything seemed okay. We'll see what happens the next time, we've done a lot more driving since the first one.
  2. Amen, brother. Next time we tell them to go bankrupt.
  3. Chrysler as a company is garbage. And now that they've buddied up with Fiat, it's going to go really downhill. I know they've made some strides to make better cars, the new 200, the redesigned 300, the new 3.6 Pentastar and whatnot, but they are eventually going to fail. They are far too behind other manufacturers at this point. Ford is on the right track, GM and Chrysler need to take notice of Ford's gameplan, or they're done for. I sincerely hope the next time Chrysler needs a bailout the American people, and Government, tell them to take a hike. Probably should have the last time. A joke indeed. And it's on us. Vote with your wallet from now on.
  4. Doesn't always work that way when you finance a vehicle. If the value drops faster than you can pay it off... you're upside down. Then you can't trade it in or sell it for what you owe. These things are devaluing so bad because their quality is garbage and they're having so many problems. Dodge didn't just screw themselves on this one, they screwed their customers too.
  5. Because they buy it and then the value tanks like a rock in water and you can't get out from under it. You're stuck with it. Not everyone has $20k-$30k in their bank account to drop on a vehicle. That's what happened to me. Bought an '09 with 35,000 miles on it for $24k and I was immediately upside down on it. It sucks. These things are tanking because they are terrible. There's a reason their value isn't worth a damn.
  6. I feel the same way. My last couple Chrysler vehicles, including the Journey, have been nothing but nightmares. And their attitude SUCKS!
  7. Unfortunately support for this unit has been dropped, so unless you're not on the last update, you're not going to get much help software-wise. Pretty disappointing they chose to drop any further support on a unit that is only a couple years old. I have it on my '09 and it's really glitchy.
  8. I have an '09 R/T. I changed my oil last October with Amsoil full synthetic. After 3,000 miles the oil was completely burnt up and there was very little oil left on the dipstick. I thought it was odd, but ordered a different type of Amsoil full synthetic, at Amsoil's advice. I changed the oil on New Year's day of this year. I check my oil regularly... maybe not every single week, but usually a couple times a month. I checked my oil last night and I only have a sliver of oil left on the SAFE part of the dipstick, and the oil is starting to smell burnt and look dark again. I've only put 2,500 miles on this oil since the oil change. This is Amsoil full synthetic, not some bargain brand dino oil. I have had tremendous results with this oil in other cars for years. I can usually get at least 15,000 miles per oil change out of this oil, and sometimes as much as 20,000. There is something seriously wrong here. It's one thing for a vehicle to burn a little oil and have to add a quart here and there. But we're not talking a quart here and there, we're talking burning through some of the best synthetic oil on the planet in a mere 2,500 miles.
  9. Tell me about it. I bought my '09 used last summer and I've had nothing but problems with it. It's a nice vehicle, but this is becoming not worth it. Almost immediately after I bought it, I had to put brand new brakes and rotors all the way around. Had a fun time dealing with Dodge on that one. It's a certified vehicle, too! Then a couple months later the PTO (AWD) unit went out. That was awesome. Now I've got the shudder from 50mph-55mph AND it's burning oil like a middle ages lantern. This is not good. Ooh, and I've also got this really nasty smell coming from the vents when the defrost kicks in. It's terrible. It smells like an old basement cellar, but with a burning dust smell mixed in. This is turning out to be an absolute nightmare of a car.

  11. Never mind. I'm reading it again and I think I found it. We'll see if it works.
