  1. 1- Had my 2011 Mainstreet in the shop all this week. Started 2 weeks ago. Out of nowhere Check engine and the Traction Control light went off. Took it in, same day fix. Code P054A, P054C-Cam advance too far, Fix covered under TSB18-037-11. Flashed PCM. 2- This past Monday morning, same thing- engine and traction control lights. Service ticket info below: 3.4- code P0340, Cam position sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 1. Star case to replace exhaust cam phasers both heads. Replaced (2) camshaft phasers and both head gaskets. Picked it up Friday afternoon. Hopefully this is the end of the engine problems. I'm planning a trip to Michigan soon.
  2. Do my own oil changes every 3500-4000 miles after the oil change warning goes off, full synthetic 5w30. Got a voice mail from the service rep. He said parts were put on order, but didn't specify what. Because of the 4th, they'll be in on the 5th and I should hopefully have the car back Thur or Fri. WE shall see. I will update then.
  3. Thanks for the report on the K&N filter. I just found it after I bought a OEM filter for my 3.6L... I am glad to see this may be a good investment in a few months.
  4. Wow, Glad to see this. Mine is in the shop now for engine and traction control lights. I was going crazy. 0 miles to empty, gas light on, needle all the way down. Can only get 18 gallons in, even continually adding fuel (8-10 times) after it stops pumping. Only to get 18 gallons if I'm lucky and 7/8th of a tank. PISSES ME OFF! I can't depend on the fuel gauge on long trips.
  5. Hello, I am new here and have a 2011 Mainstreet. I'm from Detroit, Michigan, but residing in Augusta, Georgia. Here to keep up on newest trends with the car and looking into Known problems. I have mine in the shop for the second time in 2 weeks, check engine and traction control lights. First time they said it was related to a cam sensor and there was a TSB fix. Have to wait and see what it is this time. I have 15,000 miles on the car. Phillip "Semper Fi"
  6. Thank You! I will have to take a look and see how it goes. I already have it all wired and powered in the rear(camera/reverse lights). Routed through the headliner to the mirror with the power/ blue running down the A pillar under the dash waiting to hook up. May take me a few days to get around to this, but I'll let you all know when it happens.
  7. Hello, I purchased an aftermarket backup camera/ rear view mirror for my 2011 Journey. I have it mostly installed, but am looking for a little help for the final connection. I have a wire that that is supposed to go from the unit to a reverse switch somewhere that switches the mirror to the TV- rear camera. The installation manual only lists it as "Green wire- reverse car" . PYLE PLCM 7200 I have the camera itself powered by the 12V coming off the reverse lights, the rear view mirror will get it's 12v from under the dash. Just need the switched/ reverse trigger wire identified to enable it to change from a regular mirror to the camera when put into reverse. Thanks in advance!
  8. I have the 2011, purchased in a state that does not have front plates, and I wanted to put a vanity plate on. I went to the dealership and there was 2 different types of OEM front brackets available. A $20.00 one and a $60.00 one. None were in stock, but mine called for the cheaper one and was delivered 2 days later. Looks good- not a metal bracket, but a solid piece of form fitted black plastic that contrasts great with my white journey. It serves the purpose just fine. 2012's will most likely be the same as the 11's, just check the dealership.
  9. Thanks, one each way- not quite right, but the other having the same rear more than the front. Rims don't seem to be heating up from a stuck caliper. Good or bad, the thing I do like is it doesn't seem to nose dive under firmer braking. (Nice in speed traps and approaching cops!)
  10. Yeah, grew up in the big city. seen the decline. Was back there to use my employee discount before relocating to Augusta. Love the slower pace and nicer attitude of the south.
  11. Hello, I have a 2011 Journey Mainstreet with 8000 miles on it. I have a problem with excessive brake dust on only the rear wheels- both! The front pads are barely depositing any brake dust on the rims, but the rear are "Nasty"! I called the Service department here to set asn appointment- but was told that because of past brake issues the 2011 went to a different proportioning system in which the rear brakes are the primary brake wheels and the front secondary. Anybody have any knowledge of this, or experiencing excessive rear brake dust as compared to the front wheels? I have a feeling the lazy service deptartment was just blowing smoke up me @$. Thanks, Phillip
