The v3s are pretty sweet. I have a video of my V3's when they were malfunctioning... here it is...
I have the first gen switchback and they were ok in the daytime and great at night. And I have the first gen platinum amber turn signals as well and they are great in the daylight and night, so I'm guessing that the second gen platinum are better. But if you want the Platinum series you WILL need to wire in resistors, which can be a pain in the ass. Thats a reason I got the V3s for the DJ no cutting or re wiring. And ours are 3157 NOT 3157CK. CK are for japanese cars mainly. most Toyotas and Lexus's use the CK type.So if you were to go the route of platinum series LEDs from V-LEDs.com you would need:
"x" many pairs of V3's, 1 pair if just front, 2 if you have a pre 2011 DJ.
    "x" many pair of resistors.
knowledge of what wires to cut and rewire.

It really depends on the product and where you buy them from, These fog light bulbs stock are generally brighter than LED replacement Fog light bulbs. My post above your post I tell the Lumen output but I will state it here again...The stock Lumen output of the stock bulb is about 900 Lumens, and the LEDs you see are about 725 Lumen. Also what color are you looking for the iJDMtoy bulbs are only available in 6K, V-leds offers the same type of bulb with a higher operating wattage which puts more light down the road, and they also offer a 5K bulb. What that means is the 5K bulb has more usable light, 5K puts out more usefull light than 6K bulbs do, thats why cars with projectors and HIDs generally have 4200K or 4500K HID bulbs not 5K or 6K. so 5K would be better choice if your looking for more usable light while the 6K bulbs will have a more blue tint and not being as useful. The difference in light down the road is negligible though.
    The V-leds version is here...
