  1. This is alittle different. I was actually just slowing down for a red light. The braking wasnt really that hard at all to activated the antilock bracking system. But it has happened more than once but only when it rains.maybe i should drive only when the sun shines. lol

my '11 DJ does the same thing. Pretty annoying. After a few applications of the brake it diminishes, or goes away completely. The brakes must get filled up with debri, and grind around in there.

  2. Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a hatch strap-style bicycle rack for my 2011 Journey.

The bicycle shop employee said that two of three manufacturers he researched did not recommend this type of rack for the Journey. The information was vague, but the employee said it's usually because the way the rack contacts the hatch, it can dent the metal.

So I'm curious if anyone is using one, and what brand is it?

    thanks in advance.

P.S. I've considered getting a trailer hitch, but that will be a last resort. I do not like the look of trailer hitches.

  3. That sucks. So since my Journey is about a month old with 1,000 miles, if they start acting up in lets say three or four months from now id be able to take them in to be replaced by the dealer for free under the regular warranty? I didnt bother getting any extra warrantys on top of the warranty that comes standard.

yes, they should replace the rotors for free under warranty as many times as they need it within the warranty time period. As stated, I'm about to get my second set replaced under warranty (waiting for them to come in).

  4. my front rotors warped at 10k, and then again at 14k, but the dealer didn't replace them at 14k, they said they didn't think they needed it. In retrospect, they just didn't drive it fast enough. I should have told them the wheel shook the most above 50 mph. So now at 17k they are getting really bad, and I'm hoping for my second set of warrantied rotors.

so frustrating. My previous car, a Mazda 5 had the same problem. It ate rotors. Seems rotors these days are crap.

  5. I've noticed that it goes down after sitting unused for a few days too. I drove my Miata for 4 days, then got in the Journey and the mirror was out of adjustment. I know it was perfect when I parked it.

  6. I had my rotors replaced (slight shimmy in steering wheel) at 10,000 miles, and now it's back again at 14,000 miles. They are delicate. And like someone said above, I'm not an aggressive driver (at all). I don't follow people close, and I don't do last minute braking.

I am thinking of putting aftermarket rotors on the front. Cross-drilled and vented perhaps.

    maybe that will help.
