  1. When you guys talk about a ticking noise, when do you hear it? I was in a drive through over the weekend, no A/C on, just the vent, and I kept hearing a tick, about every 45 seconds. Kind of sounded like a small fan trying to kick on. Need to get my Journey into the dealer because of the TSB on the windshield cowl, and have them double check the power steering pump. I am hearing that noise again. I love my Journey (my 2nd - husband totalled the first one) and don't want to have major problems with it. So far, so good. Chrysler guys drove up to my dealership from Detroit to fix the power steering pump, and the heat shield growl. Also, the Chrysler guys told me that my transmission was just noisy. I hear my transmission kind of gurgle (it's the best description I've got). Anyone else have this "noisy" transmission? Have no problems shifting or towing so not sure if it's a problem. Thanks.
  2. My Journey had lots of problems to start. I had the power steering pump fixed, (it's happened again though, have not been back to the dealer yet). I also had them do some work with the heat shield for the exhaust. On the first visit to the dealer, instead of hearing the noises I needed them to hear, they found that the wheel was shaky. Chrysler told the dealer that due to the type of tire, and the length of time the car sat at the lot and truck, that the tires had gotten misshappen. So, I got a rotation and balance out of that. They finally found the other noises and subsequently fixed them. Like I said, I have to return it again for the power steering pump. My transmission is noisy, but I had Chrysler tech's come from Detroit to do the other fixes, and their response was that some are just noisy. Not noticeable from someone not driving the car. I don't car for it, as this is my 2nd Journey. My husband totalled my first one, two months after I leased it. Then they quit leasing, 1 day after the accident. So this one I actually own. I have had one incident with lots of snow getting packed in the wheels, and about 50 mph I swore the car would actually fall apart because of the vibrations. I took it through a car wash with a good underbody rinse, and the problem disappeared. I only had that happen once, and I live in Michigan, so I consider myself lucky. I love my Journey, and the thought of getting rid of it just kills me. I'm really hoping that I won't have any more problems like some folks. Good luck!
  3. Trust the response from mjm48. That exact procedure was performed on my black SXT and it worked! It was exactly as he said. Take that response to your dealership, and if they don't want to work with you, find one who will!
  4. I live in Saginaw, Michigan and I have been experiencing this noise, both at 2000rpm, during left turns and another noise while in 4th-5th gear. Have had it to the local dealership twice since purchase in May 2008. I had a differ Journey, purchased in April that did not make any noise as described in threads. My husband totaled that one, and had to replace it.
