  1. Update 7/29/2008 I got my Journey sitting in the driveway

hey great news Seth, glad all is well for you!!!!

ok here is our update on our Journey, Radio audio has quit 2 times and no other issues, NONE!!!!!!!!!! Will I bring it in for that,... nope all is working fine, why take the chance. We now have 6245km's on the car. It sits in the garage mostly but have used it a couple times this winter. Man those heated seats are great.

All in all, the car is great, no complaints at all other than get rid of winter so I can drive and wash this thing.

    Rob/HBT

  2. My Dodge Journey R/T MY09 fuel consumption is about 13L/100kms , on the highway when i put on Cruise Control 100km/h, it shows 10.6L/100kms. Is it normal?

yes, to me anyways. Mine shows 10.3, but I have never rest it it after the first 1000kms. City will always be less (more l/100kms) and running with cruise feathers the throttle so it uses less fuel.

  3. well went to the scale last night and here are the figures for me

2009 SXT AWD Full load (options)

    Front axle 1200 Kgs = 2640 lbs

    Both axles 2300 Kgs = 5060 lbs

    Rear axle 1100 Kgs = 2420 lbs

NOTE we had about 150 of stuff in the back of the car

I'll try and do this so you can follow

Tire are 19" Kumho's stock tire with 1709lbs @ 44PSI per tire so that is 3418 max weight for the tires on each axle

Front axle weight is 2640 lbs, which is 77.23% of the 3418lbs. So now 77.23% of the 44psi max pressure is 33.98 psi or 34 PSI for front tires

Rear axle weight is 2420 lbs, which is 70% of the 3418lbs. So now 70% of the 44psi max pressure is 30.8 psi or 31PSI for the rear tires

Now this works for our car as mentioned above. I know this math works cause I took my 2001 F150 supercab 4X4 (7700 series) )to the weigh scales when the new tires went on. I have 50,000 + KM's on them with regular rotations (every oil change) and there is just over 70% left on the tires.

take the weight of your axles figure the percentage and then figure the percentage off the max pressure. This will give you the perfect footprint for the tire

Hope this helps some of you guys out.

  4. the harness will not be there unless you ordered with the Tow Prep package.

You can get a harness at the dealer if you still need one.

Mine was there and I installed it in about 1/2 hour. I ran mine over top of the rear bumper mounting pads away from the tailpipes.

  5. well after 644 KM's I noticed the bugs building up on the A/C condensor (A/C rad) and decided to do something about it.

I removed the top piece of the rad cover. Also it is one piece and the grill is removed at the same time as one unit. The clips are hard to removed but the best way to release them is to push down on the clip and pull the grill forward as you are pushing on the clip. Once the grill/top rad shroud is removed you can insert a screen in a frame infront of the condensor. The size of the frame is 22" X 30 1/2". The flat screen/frame fits perfectly. Now all the bugs can collect on the screen instead of filling up the condensor are reducing the performance of the A/C.

I had to remove the horns in order for the screen to sit back and then re-install the horns but if you wanted to go with a frame about 19" then the horns would not have to be removed.

The middle clip (behind the Rams head on the grill was a pain in the _ _ _!!! but with 2 pry bars wedged in, and twist the 2 pry bars the clip just popped loose.

Not as good for looks like the LED mod, but well worth the time over time

  6. Well it has been a Journey for sure.

Took possession today at about 5:30PM and what a great riding, quiet car. Was it worth the wait,.....yes, oh hell yes. Wife let me drive it home, rush hour traffic on the yellowhead is always stressful. Got it home and right away added the LED lights to the rear cargo lamps and to the lic. plate. Been playing with the car all night and really enjoying the NAV. I did not know this but the Nav gives you Approx ETA to your detination as well and is very easy to use. Input my home address but it was set for US not Canada. Switched it and away we went. My son who is 12 suggested we call the lady voice on the Nav "Lola" the same Lola from the movie RV with Robin Williams (The big rolling turd, Class A Motorhome) :hysterical:

has a small scratch on the driver's side "A" pillar and no other issues at all. No unusual noises, grinds, pings, creaks, rattles, growls etc, nothing just smooth and quiet.

Will be off to the lake lot tomorrow after work 424km's round trip, see how we are after that.

    65kms on the odometer

  7. Picked up the Sandstone AWD RT today. I've been reading this forum since I ordered the RT on 5/22/08. I think the longest wait was for shipping and getting it out of the rail yard in Buffalo for the 30 minute ride to Springville, NY. Now comes the fun part learning the new cars features and driving the Journey. The dealership did a class act when I picked it up. Got my picture taken with the salesman Matt and everyone from the President to the lot boy shook my hand and thanked me for buying the car. Surprised the heck out of me. First time that has ever happened to me at a car dealership. Kind of a warm and fuzzy feeling only my wallet was a lot lighter. Only regret is not getting the chrome wheels as they do look sharp on Hit By Thunder's car. Read this forum everyday and enjoy everyones input.

    See ya, Wild Bill

Hey thanks Wild Bill I watched the salesman pull the Journey into the delivery bay and the wheels just sparkled :happy feet:

Bill, I think the sandstone is a very rich looking color, very classy

I got ours today too. All I can say is WOW. The Journey (knock on wood) has no issues at all. Cold cold A/C, nice today, cause it hit 30 Celcius Nav is incredible Car is MINT!!!!!!!!!!!!! other than a small scratch on the drivers side "A" pillar. Not that big of a deal cause it never showed in the delivery bay but in the garage, you could see it. It looks like a power cord may have rubbed when they did the paint sealant.

I added the LED lights already WAY!!! better Also picked up a 6X8 moca indoor/outdoor carpet for the back. It is cut to size and even covers the plastic trim at the back up to the rubber molding, best part is, the hatch closes with no interference at all.

    car now has 65km's

    Rob

  8. congratulations Rob. sandstone is nice, eh. still only 2500 klicks on mine.

We will be driving this one only for the trip to the lake and into Edmonton every now and then which is 20 minutes away.

We got the biggest baddest warranty available to us Canadians (Gold plus) covered for 7 years and 115,000KMs.

Also have the paint sealant undercoated, doors inside sprayed and the reverse polarity box for rust prevention.

few issues are there are 2 tiny grease spots in the back behind the 3rd row seating, also looks like someone stepped on the 2nd row driver's side booster seat leaving a slight footprint. There is paint sealant over spray under the hood and doors. and the wheels had overspray from when they put that stupid "tireshine" stuff on ( I hate shiny tires) Salesman said no worries, it still needs to be detailed.

Undercoating looks great. When I started it, the first thing I did was a hard turn to the left, seems ok. Also put the car in drive then bumped the shifter ahead, great news, it popped into neutral and that was it. It never went past into reverse or park.

We will be picking the car up Thursday night after work. ( 1 more sleep ) :hysterical:

well it has arrived but still needs to be detailed So from order March 14th to actually touching the physical car, June 30th. It is finally over. Will I do it again, proabaly not but with this dealer yes. They have been incredible with me treated me great even in with my "hissy fits" :hysterical: We will be picking up the Journey AKA Nugget Wednesday July 2nd.

couple other photos at the dealer in my gallery not as good as this one but the first official photo is there

Hope you all enjoy the photo as much as I do. Thanks friends, glad you all were here to help me wait for the order, sure is a great forum

    Rob

  11. I will be calling Chrysler Canada tomorrow as our dealership said the Journey is not on any rebate offer at all, no matter what trim level, even showed me the book.

Tomorrow is Canada Day so the call will go in Wednesday morning.

I have a "temporary bill of sale for insurance reasons dated for the 30th of June and thay are closed Tuesday so there will be no excuses why we can't get a rebate cause it was not signed on July 1st

    Keep you posted............

  12. hey Guys!!!!!!

I actually seen our Journey tonight and it does have the full ATC like in the very top photo :happy feet:

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy for this option but it has the silver trim not the black. Black is for the R/T as some mentioned earlier

    Rob

  13. I punched into the recall space at this site http://www-5.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.jsp

    and got this back

    "VIN Number:

    3D4GH57V0 9T208467 Vehicle Description:

DODGE JOURNEY SXT AWD HATCHBACK Model Year:2009

Which means it should be built or close to being built.. a good start..

    the Stewie

Yes Stewie that is how I knew it was built on June 05th I even called the dealer first to tell them it was built. They looked into it and indeed it was :hysterical: They had to ask how I knew before them. One day it was showing "Vin # invalid" and then that night (june 04th it showed up as the SXT AWD Hatchback)

  14. well just got back from the grand opening at our dealership.

Met up with our salesman and he looked into our Journey. As of 4:43PM today, the car is in South Edmonton. Cloverbar Yard in North Edmonton so it is in the yard as I type this.

It's just about in my driveway now. The salesguy was yanking my chain saying "no movement from Manitoba" but started to laugh, Cats outta the bag, nice try :hysterical:

Now I am getting excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happy feet::happy feet::happy feet:

    ROB!!!!!!!!!!

  15. Got our Journey today, and I'm happy to report that the SXT with Premium Convenience Group and Flexible Seating Group does in fact have three zone Automatic Temperature Controls. Can't speak for the ones with Premium Conveniece Group without Flex Seating, but I'm sure it would have Dual Zone ATC.

Mine looks like the top picture above, but I have the MyGig radio, and of course the SXT's silver surround trim instead of the R/T trim.

you know Nicetrip if you were closer, I'd give you a beer for the GREAT news. WOOHOO I will have my Full ATC,...giddy freakin up
