  1. there was a forum about front and rear bumpers in police cars getting cracks in them for no apparent reason. Turned out that when the vehicles were being parked in the parking lots the drivers were waiting to feel the car bump the curb (those halp octagon shaped curbs usually staked into the concrete) they weren't hitting hard but just that slight rubbing was enough to get the paint cracking.
  2. My check engine light came on several times after having driven aprox 1 - 2 miles from home. It would also start to lose power. I had to pull over and shut off and turn engine back on. The dealer said there were no abnormal codes and they couldn't reproduce it. I found that this usually happened when I was in a hurry. Turned out that I was putting the vehicle in gear before it was done doing its pre-start computer test. Once I started taking the time to let the computer fully run its test after turning the ignition, then I had no problems. I guess I got lazy with the tip start.
  3. I took my journey to a quick lube place in town (I needed the oil changed and didn't feel like sitting around at the dealership for 3-4 hours appt. or not). Since the tire light was on I asked them to check the tire pressure. They said that they won't touch Chrysler/Dodge tires that have the tire pressure monitors on it. They said that the valve stems are too fragile and after replacing several already they made it a policy not to mess with them. So I had to go to the dealership anyway (thankfully they got me right in and filled the tires within 30 min). The dealership service guy said that if the other guy did it right they wouldn't break. I'm assuming the quick lube guys use the pressure gauge that pushes on to fill. I have one of the pressure gauges that has the clip the you squeeze and it attaches to the stem and then you pull the trigger on the handle ot start filling the tire. There is no extra pushing pulling or bending of the stem.
  4. Wow you aren't kidding! This didn't happen in my Dodge Journey, Thank God. I was driving a Ford Ranger. I had a six pack of soda behind the seat. Left it there during the winter time. The next day I had the heat on and things got warmed up. I thought someone was shooting at me or in the near vicinity. I almost yank the steering wheel and put myself in the ditch. Pulled into a parking lot when I realized frozen soda was hit me in the back of the head with one of the explsoions. Unfortunately it didn't clean up as easy as the Dodges do.
  5. http://www.mopar-accessories.com/en-US/Dod...SubGroupId=3025 http://www.leeparts.com/dodge_journey/acce...ntegration.html I'd double check before ordering to make sure its the part to go with your radio. This was just a quick search for unconnect. If you get it and have it installed let us know how it works.
