Journey display inop

The screen on my 2012 dodge journey blacked out while backing out of the driveway. No other electrical problems involved. Like most with this issue, display went dark and not responsive, radio, A/C inoperable, stuck in heat mode. After checking YouTube for advice, checking fuses, etc, with no success, I checked for power to units in accessory mode. Voltage was present at (red wire) at lower module, but not present at the upper module plug. Since I have had issues with wiring in my car, I took a chance, and ran another wire from the red wire of bottom module to the red wire of the upper module with a random wire with a universal 10 amp fuse holder in line. This resolved my problems. I think I would have a broken wire or a faulty receptacle if had I spent enough time. However, I’m sure dodge would say the wire loom I need is obsolete or costs $500.
