  1. I read a lot of transmission problem here on the forum. Mine went in this morning as well. Shifting back from 2 to 1 is sometimes giving a big "clunk". Like being hit from the back.

Shop told me that they are looking into the issue, and that shifting is not normal (although They could not reproduce the problem). I am not sure what the problem will be, but I am sure that the shop will do its best to keep me satisfied. Sofar they have been good to the Journey and the Avenger, and I have been good for them since they serviced these cars for the last couple of years.

Had some exhaust valves and cylinderhead replaced as well about 10.000 miles ago, and this is holding up very well.

  2. The Ebay lip splitter you can buy at the home depot as well. This is in the weather strip section.

This 05178283AA might only be available for outside the US and can not be ordered through mopar.com.

  3. My no. 4 cylinder has low compression. Engine light went on, first updated with a TSB for cold start. Light was off for two days. Back on again. Measured low compression. Carbon built up is expected. They will remove the cylinder head, replace the required parts and ready to go.

  5. Cleaning the filter is impossible, you need to replace it. It is behind your glove box.

    - Open the glove box completely.

    - On each side you need to pull a stopper to the innner side.

    - Open the glove box further, release the "wire" on the right center side

Now you will see the A/C vent unit, with on top the filter holder. Remove this, replace the filter and install backwards.

Very simple, 2 minutes work (first time maybe 10 minutes). You can also check your owners manual : Page 416.

I do not think that the filter is the issue....................................

  6. Not just CDJ but all brands are behaving like this which is correct. You have your rights, but also oblogations and why should they thrust you on your word?

If you buy your car and you need to make monthly payments for it, you better make sure you get the right service, specially on the parts which are under warranty. What do you save on an oil change? $15.00, but I get a carwash for free at the dealer, and they always check some more, and warn you for upcoming costs.

You need more than oil to run the engine properly, and that is what they are checking.

  7. The 3" already fills up the gaps in the bumper, and 4" might not fit due to vibration depending on road condition and transfer to much heat and the bumper could melt.

So you have to go from 3 to 3 1/2" and the length is the next issue, the muffler is directly behind the bumper. 6" is max. Many of them are welded pcs and 10-12" long which do not fit.

I did not visit Pepboys, just looked on the web, measured some things, and drove to the deler. If you find something at pepboys just post it, for sure they will beat the price of the dealer.

    Thank again.
