  1. TrueDelta conducts a real-world fuel economy survey that, unlike others, gets into the details of driving style and driving conditions. Responses so far for the Journey here: Real-world Dodge Journey gas mileage If someone is interested in posting results for the diesel, just let me know and I'll add it to the powertrain database.
  2. Thanks to the help of this forum's members, we have updated results for the 2009 Dodge Journey. The repair rate has increased, and is now 138 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year. A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May, August, and November. Additional participants would certainly be helpful. We now have a separate results page for each model that includes the results for competitors. The page for the Dodge Journey: Dodge Journey reliability comparisons
  3. Thanks to the help of this forum's members, the latest results include the 2009 Dodge Journey. So far the repair rate has been moderately high, about 109 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year. Next update in February. Additional participants would certainly be helpful. 4. We'll start previewing the November results to participants in about a month. Will the Journey be in there? Help make it happen: Vehicle reliability research
  5. Thanks, I appreciate it. We're unlikely to have enough responses for an initial result in August, but November is almost a certainty. Of course, I wouldn't mind a surprise here... Vehicle reliability research
  6. Follow-up to this month's email goes out tomorrow. If a few more owners signed up, there'd be better odds of a solid result in November, with a possible initial result in August. Vehicle reliability research
  7. I'm also interested in the details on the radiator.
  8. Thanks, Keith. 13 owners have now signed up, a good start. If owners keep joining at this rate, we'll have a result in November. We'll probably need a total of 40+, but we're getting there. Vehicle reliability research
  9. If you already owned the Journey in April, could you contact me sooner? Form to do this here: http://www.truedelta.com/comments.php
  10. Thanks. Just enter -1 in the odometer readings on the survey until the month after you get it. (The main survey always covers the previous month.) The follow-up email goes out today, and this is the last time this month I'll include new members in the survey. 7 owners have signed up so far. If a few more could be included in this survey, that would make a full result in August more likely. Vehicle reliability research
  11. Well, when I wrote up my impressions of the Journey elsewhere, I remarked that it looks smaller than it actually is. The Durango, on the other hand, must look larger than it actually is.
  12. How tight a spot are you backing into? Even adjusted as I suggest, you can see your vehicle in the mirror when you lean a bit towards that mirror. I guess "properly adjusted" depends on whether you're trying to eliminate blind spots while driving, or need to squeeze into a space so tight you're going to have trouble opening a door to get out : )
  13. A few owners have signed up to participate. With a few more, I'll include the Journey in this month's survey. If the Journey is not included this month, a result in August becomes unlikely. We will have results for some other early 2009s in August. Help make this happen: Vehicle reliability research
  14. Many people don't have their mirrors adjusted wide enough. Only when you lean a foot or so in the direction of the mirror should the vehicle be barely visible in the mirror. When the mirrors are properly adjusted, the blind spots usually go away.
  15. I hadn't realized this. I would have assumed that the Durango was longer.
  16. Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so it's possible to provide reliability information on new models quickly. I'd like to do this for the Journey, but this will depend on how quickly owners join up and participate. Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter. To encourage participation, panel members receive full access to the results for free. For the details, and to sign up to help out: Vehicle reliability research
  17. Probably, but I haven't found it. This one comes out on top when I google "Dodge Journey forum." So if owners are looking for one, they should find this one easily.
  18. I'm surprised there aren't more owners posting in this forum. Has anyone bought one yet? Justs shopping? Either way, I'd like to read people's impressions of the Journey. For me, it felt much like a minivan, just scaled down a bit and without sliding doors. I'd like something sportier, but can see how this will suit what many people are looking for in such a vehicle. My site conducts reliability research, and I'd like to have quick results for the Journey. But if people aren't buying them, this won't happen.
  19. I recently uploaded pricing and specs for the Journey to my site, which performs thorough comparisons between vehicles. It tends to undercut the competition. Car price comparisons
  20. Crossovers all look and drive alike? Really? I hadn't noticed.
  21. They're going to be combining the two dealer groups to form a single group, so they're trying to eliminate redundant products. Still, they could use a more upscale crossover, so I wouldn't be surprised if a Chrysler version reappeared at some point.
